After an evening start yesterday, we have a full day of action in Day 2. This morning is all about the Basic Novices, but in the afternoon we begin the ISU part of the event, before returning to the Interclub part of the event in the evening.

It's a good job that I always planned on watching the Advanced Novices. Because I didn't realise that they they were going to have a new stream for when we switched over to the ISU part of the event.

The competition has already started. The stream didn't come on air until after skater #5 Gabija GRIGAITE (LTU) did her first element.

My kid, skater #1 Oliviia BAZLOVA (CYP), is currently leading by a country mile. She is exactly 16 points ahead of the girl currently in 2nd position, skater #4 Dominika GUREVICA (LAT).

I'm raging. I loved Oliviia's new SP when I saw it at the Volvo Open Cup a couple of weeks ago, and I really wanted to see it again!

Well, since I'm going to be heading over to the Finlandia Trophy in half an hour anyway, there's not much point now in me starting to watch this. I'll continue doing what I was doing while I was waiting for this to come on air.

All the best to those still to skate today.

Angelina. Elegant black with white dress. A couple of mistakes, but a nice program with good spins.

Day 3 starts with a Springs B double-bill, then moves to the Intermediate Novices, then we have all the FS competitions in the ISU part of the event, and finally finishes with all the Adult FS competitions.

And who knows how many streams we will go through, or how many inappropriate points we change streams at.

Unfortunately, because of the positioning of the camera, we could only see about a third of the rink during the Warm-Up.

Oliviia came into camera shot for teh first time a few seconds after we left the results area. But, it wasd only very briefly in the bottom left hand corner of the picture, when she came into shot and immediately left shot again.

It was a long wait before the next time she re-appeared, but she came in and did a beautiful combination jump right in the middle of the picture! And then left again.

After another long wait, she returned, and did another beautiful combination jump, and then left again. Not long afterwards, she briefly re-appeared in the corner, but then went out of shot again.

Shortly afterwards, she came back into shot, and then seemed to change her mind, and headed back where she came from. Next thing we knew, she came back in again, and circled around while doing some stretches, and went out of shot again.

Not long afterwrds, she came back very causally, and circled around and did a beautiful jump right in the corner of the rink. She actually stayed in shot a long time, because she then did her Step Sequence in front of the camera. And then when she finished it, she went out of shot.

Just after the one minute warning, she briefly appeared in the corner of the shot. And she briefly appeared in the corner twice more in the final minute.

Then, just as the announcer was telling them that the Warm-Up was over, she came back in and did one final jump, before heading to the gate, which was just out of camera shot.

And now it is time for the Top 2, who were separated by practically nothing in the SP.

First up, it's Mia.

After what happened at the Volvo Open Cup a couple of weeks ago, I hope she has two good skates here and can fully exorcise that SP.

I'm not sure if I have seen Mia before, but I got a shock when she came out. If I hadn't already looked up her ISU Bio after the SP, I wouldn't have believed that this girl is only a month older than Oliviia! She looks a LOT older than what she is.

She is wearing a beautiful one-sleeved black dress, with sparklies. It appears to be an olè 💃 programme. Yep, Spanish-sounding instrumental music at the start, which eventually gave way to "Yo Soy María".

She had two falls in the first half, which will be costly. But, other than that, it was beautiful.

She looked frustrated coming off the ice.

Yep she's upset in the results area. Jekaterina Platonova is sitting with her.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

All of a sudden, she is very happy!

And now, it is my kid. After winning the Volvo Open Cup a couple of weeks ago, can she do the Riga double?

:cheer: ALL THE BEST OLIVIIA!!! :cheer:

Final best wishes from Mum at the boards.

Beautiful Triple Lutz to start with.

And combination jump looked effortless.

So did the Triple Flip, which was followed by beautiful Change Foot Combination Spin.

Am I imagining things, or am I hearing traces of "Pastime Paradise"?

Beautiful sequence of jumps

A bit of an abrupt landing on teh Triple Loop.

But next jump, the Triple Salchow, was beautiful.

Beautiful Flying Sit Spin.

And beautiful Choreographic Sequence to finish with.

Boys, but Oliviia is good! This is a very dramatic programme, and for a girl of her age and size to pull it off so well is remarkable.

No doubt in my mind. She's won this.

I was wondering if that was her Dad that met them afterwards and took their photo, but I think it is an official photographer. Meanwhile, current FS leader Mia walked past. A while later, a running Jekaterina Platonova followed.

Enthusiastic double wave and arm heart from Oliviia.

Mother and daughter in deep conversation.

We then switched to the actual camera for the results area, and Oliviia did another enthusiastic double wave, with a hand heart in the middle of it.

That grey cuddly toy in the hoodie must be Oliviia's equivalent of Stefania's sloth.

The graphics are ahead of the announcer. So, we knew she had won both the FS and overall before she did.

Unfortunately, the leaderboard graphic appeared just as the score was being given, and completely covered Oliviia. So, we didn't see her reaction! But, it had been removed by the time the position was announced, and she did another double wave then.

They sat on for a while, and then Irina got up and went out of shot. Oliviia then took her time putting on her skate guards and gathering up her stuff, and then got up, came up close to the camera, and gave us a big wave! And then she left too.

:cheer: WELL DONE OLIVIIA!!! :cheer:
