4th Maria Olszewska Memorial | Feb 24 - Mar 1

We're back!

And that is the last resurfacing today that will be during a competition. The rest of them are between competitions.

A lot tidier than it was in the original schedule, where all of them would have been during competitions!

Haven't really felt like commenting today, but wanted to post about Uxia GONZALEZ-ABRALDES (CAN) since I have posted about her past 3 programmes in Łódź.

She was wearing a red dress, and skating to "Samson & Delilah".

Unfortunately, the shadows and the natural light from the windows meant that there it was difficult to see what was happening in certain parts of the rink. But, from what we did see, it looked good.

She goes into 3rd position in the FS, but wins overall.

That will certainly put the ghosts of last year to bed!

:cheer: WELL DONE UXIA!!! :cheer:

P.S. Sorry for taking so long to post this. I was struggling to find a picture from the film of Hedy Lamarr wearing a red dress. This was the closest I could get.

And that resurfacing brings an end to the Junior competitions. We now complete the Senior competitions. 7 boys, followed by 10 girls.

Two groups each, with a resurfacing in between.

Mmmmm. The stactic camera that they use during the Warm-Ups started malfunctioning, and they had to switch to one of the cameras that gets used during the programmes.

But, it wasn't for long. They were back to the normal camera within half a minute.

I hope that we won't have something similar happening during the programmes!

I was just thinking: "it hasn't been long since I last saw Daniel KORABELNIK (LTU) doing this programme".

It'll actually be a month in a few days time! 😲

I love the whole concept of this programme. We need more Guns And Roses in figure skating.

And I always smile at the way he always unties his hair as soon as he is finished skating!

Not perfect. But, it was enjoyable.

He looks disappointed.

Kornel has a fan or two in the audience... ;)

Just checked, and he is indeed a local boy from here in Łódź.

That was great!

I've a feeling this is going to be a great Experience for him! (Different Einaudi piece, I know. But I couldn't resist).

No! He goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

I'm surprised. I thought he would win.

Phew! I thought they were never going to come back! :drama: (The Warm-Up was supposed to start at 8 minutes to the hour, but they didn't come back until the top of the hour).

Typical! I followed Anna-Flora the whole way around the rink, and then she does a jump out of shot!

After a while, she did a lovely combination jump down at the far end of the rink. Another skater looked to be too close, but I think it was just the camera angle.

Mmmm. She's taken off her jacket, which is making her harder to spot. But, I saw her pop a jump down at the far end of the rink.

Saw her lining up another jump, which was done out of shot.

Right, not long to wait for Anna-Flora's programme. Two skaters, and then it's her turn.

I'm stupid. I thought it was Anna-Flora, and then Catherine-Charlotte. Not the other way around.

Really beautiful black dress. I wouldn't have guessed that she was skating to music from "Price Of Persia" from it, though.

Unfortunate about the early fall. But, on the whole, I really enjoyed everything about the programme.

Diana waves and says "Hello" to us.

Catherine-Charlotte is upset, and Mum puts her arm around her and consoles her. It works! They then start chatting away.

She goes into the lead.

And now it is time for my first kid of the day. (The Senior competitions at the Bellu Memorial are later today than they were yesterday).

:cheer: ALL THE BEST ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:
