Catching up now cause I watched the 3rd place game yesterday between France and England instead of junior men and I have no regrets. So many goals scored, so much entertainment, no English parked buses, Mbappe 2 goals and 1 assist. That was such a treat. I have my doubts the Final will be as exciting, but I have to watch BTS.When is the team event tmrw?

I would say top 3 go to JGP with Grayson Long getting 2 spots, then hold off on the remaining two spots and hand them out after Cranberry Cup. Hopefully the top 6 are being sent to Cranberry Cup cause 3-6 places seem to be very similar in terms of planned tech content. It's just the quality of skating and completed content that separates them at this stage and one domestic competition is not enough to form an opinion considering most are new faces. An international competition like Cranberry Cup will be a better predictor of how they can handle a JGP rather than NextGen.
If I was Skate Canada for girls I would send Lia Cho to the JGPs without Russians. So Batumi and Gdansk, if they want her to have the best possible shot to qualify for the JGP final. The other two JGPs will have Russians and are also in Asia so the competition will be stacked. The boys are more well balanced across federations so harder to strategize here. Grayson Long and William Chan probably already got the first two JGPs, and the 3rd spot in Bangkok is going to be handed out (probably to Colton Moness) before Cranberry Cup because entries for JGP #4 Ankara are due August 14 and JGP #5 Batumi August 21, respectively, which is after Cranberry Cup. If Skate Canada wants a skate off at Cranberry Cup, then they can afford one for the boys
