The notions of the second video are "Battle in the Library", then, "Which will be the winner, the attention-seeker or the passion for knowledge?" Yuzu-bee may be the winner

Thanks for the translation and providing the context for the second video SuzyQ! No need to guess who is the attention-seeker or the one with passion for knowledge in the mind of the creator of the video.;) Actually, I think Yuzuru possesses both attributes as has been discussed in previous posts.

Dahlia san could not resist her (probably) obsession either.

Title: Gallery of Obsessions

In the latter half, his costumes are of the Asuka Period and Heian Period of Japanese history.

It really is the world of "The Tale of Genji". So adorable.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tale_of_Genji

Haunting and evocative video with just the right accompanying music. That iconic image of a crouching Yuzuru in his Etude costume with the added feature of butterfly wings (1:20) is brilliant, so fey!

Very interesting images too of Yuzuru in period Japanese costume with matching hairstyle. I wish he'll have Japanese themed competitive programs in the future, and for them to be choreographed by Daisuke or Tatsuki.

Thanks for the video link SuzyQ and for the background of "The Tale of Genji."

Oh, Dahlia san posted at You Tube as well in the name of S Dalia

For those who could not view Nico video, I recommend the following too :agree:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wodNt-hp_2M

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ltApMYUrrQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DViS4x8cM2E

Thanks for the links, Suzy Q! I was introduced to a work of Dahlia-san ("The Monster" if I'm not mistaken) by you some posts back, and I've found her work distinctive and imaginative, and multi-layered with more going on than at first glance The foregoing only confirms it.

Going by recent posts, Yuzuru really has inspired a lot of beautiful fan art. Beauty inspiring beauty. Sometimes obsession can be a good thing. :)

【Trailer】Mimi Films created by Yuzu's fan.

In off-season, we can see more and more creations in various kinds by fans. Joyful and inspired!

The producer releases two trailers today. One is “Kuriya's adventure”, and Yuzu, Javier and Orser are characters. Another is titled in "philosophy" and Machida has a role in it. Enjoy!

Thank you, Maria Victoria. I'm glad you liked them. I like the blue butterfly one too.

Beauty inspiring beauty. You can say that again ;)

I'm digging up old videos now, using all day my holiday,

(Edit: Sorry, I put a wrong one)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfL2j0Z9Kmc

Fans refers this as "Bambi, or fawn falling down and getting up. His falls are worth adding GOE."
So adorable. This may be the reason why I remember Yuzuru with the impression of falling

That's a good one. But I have to agree with you about the costume. I've seen 2 versions of the costumes and I can't figure out what's going on with the design on the black top he's wearing.
I was thinking of Sing, Sing, Sing. With the same costume
This EX version with the hat would be welcome too.

Thank you for the links, mikaboo. The Sing, Sing, Sing, I had seen before was only this MOI 2007 one (actually I viewed before was a different post, but I didn't find that), so nice to see the competition one.

The person who posted the Competition Sing, Sing, Sing posted Firebird of the same competition (maybe), and little Keiji Tanaka. They are also first to me. Thank you again, mikaboo !

Oh these are all hilarious! Love both the script and the execution of all the videos. The one with Nobunari and Yuzuru just cracks me up, as we get to see Nobunari in his accustomed geyser mode. And the third is also my favorite as it shows Tatsuki as hero rather than simply playing straight man to his more ebullient (read less serious) TJ teammates.

Thanks for posting the links and translations Nicky_10!

Thank mikaboo so much for information to clarify my longtime confusion. I finally understand what Yuzu exactly said in Nakano's interview last June.

I am much interested in the ecosystem of Japanese figure skating industry including their skater’s career development, overseas and locally. Your information provides another piece of the puzzle in whole picture. Thanks!

This is such a delayed response, but thanks for the feedback echotpe!
I'm not knowledgeable about the ecosystem of Japanese figure skating at all, but these videos helped me understand it a little bit. You might already know this, but the first step towards becoming an elite figure skater in Japan seems to start from the annual training camp at Nobeyama where the JSF choose their future Olympic hopefuls.
These videos are in Japanese only, but I think you are fluent? (sorry, if I'm wrong)

No problem SuzyQ!
Actually, since you have a niconico account, you should check out these as well because I think they are the original videos of the ones uploaded on youtube and are much longer with the warm-up, kiss & cry, and the hilarious medal ceremony where he has no idea what to do and the little girls are helping him out
2008 Skate Copenhagen (Niconico Douga - need to register to view)
SP with warm up, kiss & cry
FS with practice, warm up, kiss & cry, medal ceremony
Results (1st place! out of 2 skaters!)

And little Keiji! He already looks mature now so I never imagined him to be so little a few years ago. I hope he does well this coming season.

Here's another [MAD] video by eimi echoing all the wishes of this fan auntie for Yuzuru who has the whole world at his feet.
oohhh thank you for posting this, I absolutely love those MAD videos

It seems that everyone cannot resist their obsession
meh, that sounds really unhealthy anyway  people should spread their joy and not suppress it

speaking of which, I finished my second canvas last night  it's so kitschy and so glittery and I'll freely admit that I love it (now I just need to find a proper wall for my upcoming Yuzu Costume Canvas Collection  )

OMG, you ARE talented! Did you make the cherry blossoms as well?

I know you don't want any more ideas, but I am an S-type of a person so I have to do this. I found some phone cases based on his costume designs.

oh dear God, no, those flowers I bought. I'm not that crazy  I just spent wayyyy too much time browsing through online shops until I found what I needed (and then I dipped everything in glitter... because glitter makes everything better)

I would say thank you for the compliment, but since you insisted on being so mean in the end... ok, I take that back, like I hadn't already ransacked my phone case collection to check which one would be sacrificed in the near future

Hah so you think the model for your canvas is also "so kitschy and so glittery"? ;) Levity aside, that's a canvas I'd be proud and happy to hang on my wall. It's beautiful Pamina. Thank you for sharing with us your work. You obviously have artistic talent not to mention loads of patience in gluing those stones and cherry blossoms. :)

Thank you, mikaboo :yay:

Everything is incredible with him, even at 13 !
Jumps, spins, skating, and his shape of body !

He was really born to skate

And yes, I totally think that  but in my book that's not a bad thing. that costume is beautiful and suits him as well as the program. (and like I said: glitter makes everything better in my world  )

I agree. I think it's one of Yuzuru's best costumes and the program one of his most moving. And he certainly likes glitter (bling) in his costumes, which is understandable considering figure skating is part theater.

His profile says Tokyo. Lambiel also arrived Makuhari for FaOI. So I will say it was somewhere in Tokyo and he has started preparing for FaOI

One of the boy's tweet says he usually practice at Yokohama rink~

Yuzu was taken a photo with a mushroom hairstyled kid who mentioned him "gentle but cool". (I can't really distinguish the sex of kid. A girl by twitter's ID?)

@mikaboo

Thank your information and links of training camp at Nobeyama. I have seen similar one before from "Figure Skating A to Z" series. Nobeyama camping is in #15.

Speaking of Nobeyama camping, JSF recruited S. Arakawa joining Team Japan as a staff to aim the PyeongChang Olympics 2018 last week. Akko and Nobu are also invited as mentors in camping practices this summer. A new quad is starting!

eh.... I will say that is a boy. The style (hair and sports jacket and everything) and the gestures are more like a boy. The name yuki could be used by both boy and girl... And this is the only tweet in this account. So ...

EDIT:
It is a boy. The skate shoes are black! Girls wear white shoes!

Actually I've got my eye on Etude, White Legend and Notre Dame right now, since those would definitely translate into my kind of artsy stuff ;) Bolero could be fun, too (soooo many shiny stones)
And I'll just assume that he'll have the decency to come back next season with something new and awesome I can work with  the kid sure likes his bling, I'm counting on that.

Shoot, almost 1,000,000 views
I don't think you can shoot enough of us to stop that count any time soon
