I was slightly surprised with Adam's scores but with such a low BV, Adam really needed play the GOE and spin game, which he didn't do. His GOEs were basically non-existent with his jumps and he had a level 3 spin. You can't be out-jumped and out-spinned and out-GOEd all at the same time.... The skaters in this field are way more complete than people give credit for. People like to harp on quads, but jumps are not the only elements these guys are good at.

So, now that the competition is over and we have seen the top 6 guys all judged together, what do you all think of the PCS scores? I've argued on both sides of the fence in regards to mistakes impact on PCS.
Do you think that the top 3 after the SP, Yuzu, Javi and Patrick were scored correctly? Do you think that the bottom 3 after the SP were scored correctly?

In the end the winner was clear, and it was a very close race in 2nd and 3rd, would anyone have placed Chen and Shoma in a different order?

I'm interested to hear opinions on this since it was such a hot topic during the entire lead up to the GPF.

PCS are affected by mistakes... we can see it clearly...

All I will say here is that Patrick deserved higher PCS in the SP ---that for me is the ONE major flaw in judging PCS that weekend... everyone other skater made mistakes but Patrick. He skated with joy, lightness and refinement. He should be on top PCS wise... I do not agree that he should be penalized PCS wise for having a lower base value... that is already reflected in TES... also, some things will always be interesting when considering BV... his camel spin is only a level 3, yet the way he does it with full extension, perfect lines, center and speed, is extremely difficult to control... and worth 2.9. a fall on a quad is worth more... just saying.


for the LP : I think Patrick got hurt where he deserved to be hurt (performance, interpretation) which are two categories that will be affected by a sub-par skate... however, i am fine with the kind of score he got in those circumstances. With a better skate he'd be higher... yet judges acknowledge his superiour skating skills.


Regarding the others : I think we all have our subjective rankings in our head so I will refrain from commenting where I see everyone. The judges judged it one way, and it does make sense how it is reflected in the scoring...Perhaps, what would be more accurate, is a bit more difference between everyone... With 4 guys, 3 of them with not perfect skates in the low 90s... it's hard to really make a difference.... so TES rules here... and it is already possible to earn way more points TES wise than PCS... so perhaps, there should be a better gradation to reflect the best skates of the night at least in Performance and Interpretation.... and ipso facto, a greater difference should be applied to skating skills and transitions.... composition is just whatever you like IMHO LOL
