The 4th Maria Olszewska Memorial 2026 is set to take place February 24 - March 1, 2026, in Lodz, Poland, at the Bombonierka ice rink.

It will feature the Singles & Pair Skating and Ice Dance (Novice, Junior and Senior) disciplines and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations, and relevant ISU Communications.

 
Day 1 of the Maria Olszewska Memorial is Dancing Tuesday, as we start the day with the Solo Dancers, and then finish with the partnerships. And it is the format that I like, where the Novice levels are not doing their Pattern Dances back-to-back.

So, we have all the Solo Pattern Dance 1's; followed by all the Solo Pattern Dance 2's; followed by the Junior and Senior Solo Short Dances; followed by all the Ice Dance Pattern Dance 1's; followed by all the Ice Dance Pattern Dance 2's; followed by the Junior and Senior Ice Dance Short Dances.

Livestream for the Basic Novice Solo Pattern Dance 1 is now on air.

I suppose we won't know for definite until tomorrow, but it looks like everything will be broadcast on this link:

Which probably means no archiving. But, we'll know better after today's broadcast has finished.

At least we can pause and re-wind the stream.

Really good quality stream.

However, it is a bit off-putting the way the streamer's cursor often stays on the screen until the TES box appears after the first element is done.

Anyway, the Intermediate Novice Solo Dancers are now doing their Warm-Up.

Ah, I didn't notice that the Adult Solo Dancers were also in action today.

Right, the Adult Basic Novice Solo Dancers are now doing their Warm-Up, so time to switch over to the Adult Entries / Results page.

I think I'll get to see all three of them before I have to leave to go to the dentist.

Eh?! The stream died when the final Adult skater was introduced, and then came back when I refreshed the page. But everything up to then had been lost.

Mmmm. That has presented me with a quandary now that I am bailing out now. Do I pause the stream and play catch-up, or just re-join live?

I think I'll have two windows open, and do both.

We now have the Adult partnership, and then a resurfacing before the Solo PD2 segments.

All teh best to those that I will miss.

Just arrived back, and it looks like the stream died again at some stage while I was away. I was just about to say that the window I paused was still playing, but it stopped at the end of the Warm-Up for the Adult partnership.

I refreshed the live window and paused it while the previous skater was getting her scores. So, I am now a couple of minutes behind.

For my own reference in case the stream does get archived, I am re-joining with the final skater in Intermediate Novice Solo PD2.

That resurfacing brings an end to the Solo Pattern Dances. Between now and the next resurfacing, we have the Solo Short Dances.

A group of 5 Juniors, followed by a group of 2 Seniors.

I take it Alicja is Agnieszka Rejment's sister. She looks like her.

Didn't know Liliána SOÓS (HUN) was doing Solo Dance.

She is wearing a blue bra and gold skirt.

Don't like this remix of "The Rockafeller Skank" by Fatboy Slim. But I loved "Lovefool" by The Cardigans that followed it. And then "Get Ready For This" by 2 Unlimited at the end.

Much as I love the middle song, it didn't really fit with the other two songs.

Don't know the first song, but I suspect it was a Nirvana song. It was followed by "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.

She was wearing a brown top and brown shorts.

I know the first song, but don't actually know what it is called. But, it's not my type of music.

The second song definitely is. "Oops!…I Did It Again" by Britney Spears.

Now for the Seniors. Just the two of them. The second of whom, Megan PARNELL-MURPHY (GBR), is married to the first skater that represented Ireland in the Junior GP Series, Vivian PARNELL-MURPHY (IRL)

Didn't know the instrumental piece that Karolina LESZCZYNSKA (POL) started with. But then it turned into "Smooth" by Santana". Very abrupt and rough edit at the end of the programme.

She was wearing a red dress.

I really enjoyed that. And it looked like Karolina was really enjoying it too.

She is so happy waiting for her scores. That is lovely to see.

I'm kinda Vogued out, and I didn't think the two songs went together, but the skating was wow!

We're back! And it is time to start the ISU part of the event. It's back to the Pattern Dances, but this time it is the partnerships that are doing them.

And we start with a group of four Basic Novice partnerships.

Oh, the final partnership that was due to skate in Advanced Novice PD1, Victoria ABT / Alexander MUELLER (DEU), have withdrawn.

That was one of the few partnerships whose names I recognised! :drama:

And am I right in thinking what we have yet another sibling partnership representing the Czech Republic coming through? Mariia TESLIA / Dmytro TESLIA (who I believe are actually Ukrainian) are currently in 4th position after PD1.

Right, back to the Basic Novices for the first of the PD2 segments.

Right, time for a resurfacing. And I will be away for my evening meal by the time it comes back for the Intermediate Novices.

I'll definitely be back by the end of the next resurfacing. It's just a question of whether I'll be able to play catch up, or have to join LIVE.
