2024-25 Team Japan announcement

I thought they were going to split more the spots since this season we have asian winter games and winter universiade where Mone, Hana, Rion and Kaori are going to compete, imo Mone should wd from one of them (4cc or winter universiade), she is going to be very tired by worlds plus I didn't remember about world team trophy taken place this year as well

Selfishly I am thrilled that Wakaba will be in Boston. I have not seen her skate live since 2018 Skate Canada. A year ago I didn't think we would see her back competing at such a high level, even without a 3A.

I'm happy to see Kaori and Mone skate too, but I did see them in Montreal.

I'm hoping for an Amber, Kaori and Wakaba podium in any order.

Did Japan put the same women in both Worlds and 4CC before? I thought they normally tried to spread the joy.
Yes.

2018 4CC: Satoko Miyahara, Kaori Sakamoto, Mai Mihara
2018 Olys: Satoko Miyahara, Kaori Sakamoto
2018 Worlds: Satoko Miyahara, Wakaba Higuchi

2019 4CC: Rika Kihira, Kaori Sakamoto, Mai Mihara
2019 Worlds: Rika Kihira, Kaori Sakamoto, Satoko Miyahara

2020 4CC: Rika Kihira, Wakaba Higuchi, Kaori Sakamoto
2020 Worlds: Rika Kihira, Wakaba Higuchi, Satoko Miyahara

If anything the "spread the wealth" is new, Japan couldn't send the same team in 2022 for 4CC and Olympics because of the quarantine requirement so as a consequence the 4CC and Worlds team is different (as Worlds team follow Olys).

And then the National champions who usually are assigned to both 4CC and Worlds start declining the 4CC assignment (Shoma Uno, Kaori Sakamoto, Yuma Kagiyama starting this year) opening up a spot for the 4th or 5th place to move up.
