Not much height difference between Freddie and Layla, obviously lifts are tricky, as he's a newbie to Dance, but 45 was harsh. I liked their Cotton Eyed Joe section.
I just watched both RD & FD for this new team. I have always really liked Freddie - I think ice dance is going to be a great fit for him as he gains more experience in the discipline. Layla is such a bold performer as well. I look forward to a fun season watching these two as the progress on their journey.
Fear/Gibson!! I will never be ashamed for loving this fun team. I really like this RD. When its more polished this will be a killer with large audiences.
I liked it too. Difficult and complex. It needs mileage and repetition. Speed will come. It is nice to see them expanding their range and giving us a new look from them. I like it and look forward to seeing them grow with both it and the FD.
The first videos I found were of Ali & Saul. After I stopped laughing and fanning myself over Saul being too sexy for his shirt, I found myself really appreciating the creativity of this team more and more. Both dances have a lot of complexity, but not in a hyper way. Lots of changes of hold and original ways of doing the required elements. Allison matches Saul step for step and is the emotional rock of this team. They look so together and balanced in both programs. I find these two to be among the dances I want watch again and again to find new nuggets of originality. Bravo!
Holly Harris & Jason Chan look smoother than I have ever seen them. They have been working hard on technique and it shows. Maturity shows in their performances and they have a new steadiness that comes from a long partnership. They seem more aware of how to blend and match their movements and dance as a unit. I found myself not worrying about them as they skated and was able to enjoy their new confidence.
