2026 Junior Worlds Championships | Pairs' Short Program

Awww, we almost almost had an entire pair short program without any throw fall, that would've been incredible.

I like Romane's costume though, very French

Ehhhhhh, I hope they'll both find partners that will suit them more, kinda waste of talent to keep them together.
I REALLY don't want to read too much into things or speculate but Luke's girlfriend is switching to pairs next season and with all of the things Mark was saying about their lack of eye contact and connection throughout the program... I wonder if they are planning to split after this season 😬

I don’t know about any of that, but they are mismatched. He was kind of dragging her around to the ice.

I wonder what happened between them, cause I thought they used to have a great connection.. their Lion King program was mesmerising.

If there's been troubles between them, it definitely didn't show on Olivia's face - she holds that smile so well....

Starr Andrews announced this past Autumn that she would be switching to pairs at the end of this season. There has been no mention of who her pairs partner will be, but it would not be surprising to see her pair up with her actual partner - which would require Flores/Wang to split as he cannot skate with two pairs partners at once.

I am starting to find Olivia's smile problematic. She seems to be unable to emote in any other way, and she will need to do so if she wants to be successful as a senior.

he cannot skate with two pairs partners at once.

That just started me thinking.

We've had Pairs Skating, and Fours Skating. Has anybody ever attempted Threes Skating?

And how on Earth would it work?!

Actually, I can imagine Death Spirals being done by a guy and two girls, one girl holding onto each of his arms. But he would need to be mighty strong to hold onto both of them. And very good at keeping steady!

It would be a disaster if it went wrong!

I don't think this would be the reason if they decide to split, they were of when they were younger but even then they didn't seem to be matched well. One of my issues with them is that he is performing, she is just smilig no matter what.

Linus looks a bit like Frangipani

true and has similar movements

What is the maximum age for male Pairs skaters in Juniors these days? Because Linus is 21.

Could he be aging out of Juniors soon? And hence becoming age eligible for our friend in Canada?

23 is the limit, so one or two more seasons dependent on his DoB

I was about to write the same ;)
oh you guys.. cannot even get a night of sleep.... :)

Okay....I've just caught up with the pairs on video (going to be "sensible" about how early I get up with the junior worlds).

Soooo .... YAY for Canada! :laugh3::nana: 1st and 2nd places, baby!!

And, also, the two Chinese pairs were great! Guo/Zhang the better pair, imo but, my goodness, Yuxuan Chen is SO cute!

With Zhang Xuanqi & Feng Wenqiang out, it will be interesting to see how the third place plays out. I'm struggling to predict....

Predictions for the entire podium are up for grabs, obviously. The two Chinese teams who competed here are good, especially Guo/ Zhang, who excel on tech elements. Still, I find both Chinese teams who competed here lacking in overall maturity, connection, and polished presentation. The top two Canadian teams and the U.S. team, Flores/ Wang, are clearly more mature and polished in their presentation, and some tech elements, too, were performed with greater panache and expression by these more experienced teams, all of whom have been competing partly in seniors this season.

Of course, top standings could drastically change after the free programs. If Kemp/ Elizarov stay focused and skate clean, they have an excellent chance to win with their lovely fp, which would be redemption for them not winning '25 GPF. We'll see what happens.

Liv and Luke are great performers which they don't get enough credit for from the judges. Conversely, it is true that they don't look at each other enough while performing, despite being fairly well-matched physically and having a great vibe/ friendship with each other on and off the ice.

Regarding the other speculation, I have not heard anything concrete, just random, unconfirmed speculation. I do wonder why @Karoltyna feels Liv and Luke need to find other partners. Do you feel that Liv could benefit from finding a taller partner? Perhaps, especially if it's someone she could develop a better emotional connection with on the ice. But, it isn't easy to find the perfect partner. It is clear that Liv and Luke are both very talented. I wish the best for them.
