An interesting in-depth interview with Sofia

Sofia T is one of my favorites! She's a little fire cracker and her love for skating shines through whenever she competes, trains or does shows 🥰

She recently finished 8th at Junior Nationals so I'm not sure if she'll get a Grand Prix event next season, but with girls moving up she might!

It's been 84 years but finally I have Sofia T content! (Although there was the Junior Test skates, but the sound quality was just terrible).

The Russian Grand Prix has kicked off and the first stage is Moscow.

Sofia was there with her fiery and awesome SP:

A 3A-3T combo! 🥰

She got 73.23 and is in first place!

I'm crossing my fingers for the FS. Go, Sofia, go! :cheer:

Exciting news! Sofia won the first stage of the Cup of Russia!

The first two jumping passes were pretty rough alas, but dang I feel like this program will be totally epic when Sofia does it clean! The opening choreo is awesome. :)

Congratulations to Sofia!

OK, so apparently I left this thread hanging for ages, but it was the Junior Test Skates last week so Sofia showed us her new programs!

https://youtu.be/htYkrqwVz1U?si=VBaDSiDGyF-xkd-o - FS Music Moonlight Sonata (not sure which version this is though!)

She's looking good! Jumps are a bit rough at the moment, but I'm loving the step sequences :)

Sofia was also in China recently with the other Angels for shows!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CwK-KcsJ_Q- Russian Dance featuring Alexander Samarin in Swan Lake - fun :)

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvd4J4uIvLF - Sofia hanging out in Beijing and taking in some sights.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CwOFk1dopGB - Thanking the fans

And of course there was time off during summer

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs8GZHOorz3/ - Sofia and her sisters on holiday :)

https://www.instagram.com/p/CsoyNGSIsQR - Chillin' in the Maldives

She also visited a place called Lake Onega with Veronika Z

https://www.instagram.com/p/CrkXJVBIoy2 - Posing

https://www.instagram.com/p/Crc6MQCIoaC - That's a lotta hair!

And a place called Kemerovo

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq9qSeWoYxI - Apparently, Sasha Tursova had a Master Class there and Sofia got to join in.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CqkHE9YIEcA - No idea where this is...but puppies were involved! 🐶

Anyway, fingers crossed for Sofia to have an awesome 2023/2024 season.

I'm a bit torn on the Indila program: She does an amazing job at hitting all the changes and beats in the music, great choreo in that regard (especially the step sequence is placed so well, but basically everything), but you have to be able to execute it and she is and does it - and I love that it's a song from start to finish, couldn't find any real cuts? - but I don't think the intent or atmosphere of the song is caught, which in this case bothers me because I really like that song and the original flair is pretty extreme and it's weird not to see it displayed.
So I guess I take it as a showcase of her abilities, but it's not the perfect program that might have been possible?

Can't such a young skater progress during the season, and "get" the program a bit later? It happened to the best, and here it's only the test skates.
