When did this happen? Genuine question.
I'm not sure but I think it could be as early as 2020 Russian National Championships; I think that it was still the Girl with a Ball program? It wasn't perfect and she was tired of it but it was by no way the sort of empty program she had later. Strangely, she appears no more in the official results page! Only the row caused by her scores have remained, with Evgueni Plushenko's declarations and all. I saw also a couple of skates where she got very high scores with two falls, on an empty program if I remember correctly; but these same 2020 Russian National Championships were when I stopped watching all Russian Women, because of Anna Shcherbakova's fever and keeping on skating — apparently without testing. so I would watch fewer. Of course she wasn't more responsible of it than Kamila Valieva was for having recessing Skating Skills, empty programs and overscoring! As Mathman, I bear them no ill-will, far from it. I focus my resentment on those who made it happen, with grossly inaccurate scoring in particular. And I'm conscious that I'm egoistic in regretting the pleasure I would have had watching Kamila Valieva skate, had she been led to train what she needed.
And I appreciate all the more Alexandra Trusova's professionalism.

I came here to say how proud I am of Sasha... And if I believe in anyone to become mom and do quads that's her. The pregnancy itself takes so much toll on the body that her doing quads that soon is huge accomplishment on its own. And I missed her so much this Olympics. This was the most boring Olympics in the women field. I am waiting for you the next Olympics.

Why boring? Just curious

Because first it felt like the sport is going backwards, nothing exceptional in any element. It's not like in the men Ilia taking the crown from Nathan and repeating him, though I really miss in the men field not only nathan, yuzuru, shoma etc. So for girls, I like couple of skaters and couple of programs and that's all, wanted Kaori to win, it didn't happen, but there was no excitement no expectations of something big, no drama or that big rivalry, more like hoping they don't fall and that's all. While in 2022 I knew I will see history.

History? A bunch of umhappy, hysterical teenagers, at least one of them doped, getting overscored on terrible footwork and scratchy quads.

I'm so happy we didn't have any of this "drama" the last four years. This is sports, not reality TV.
Oh wow, going off on teenagers, when far more grown women and men in figure skating have been crying and emotional or rude when not winning what they wanted.Ofc history was made last Olympics with ultra elements in the women field, record after record, but you have the right to prefer mediocrity. Instead here to see comments about how Sasha is returning or how it's possible Sasha to do quads at this age and after giving birth I see people criticizing Sasha life choices for her coaches, her character, people going off on teenagers and even tried to insult Sasha in her role as mum, every mother will be happy to spend as much time with her baby to take it everywhere and to show it off. Second those teenagers got the results they got through their hard work and are far more talented than most if not all of the current field. I had the pleasure to have seen them live and while some jumps like over puddles other have massive powerful and fast rotation with huge coverage, or fast spins with difficult positions. That's what I enjoy and that's what I miss. I wanted to make positive comment on Sasha after what I read, but I can also go off. Now about the doping comment, noone had doping at the Olympics, only Kamila had positive at home event, Sasha and Anna never had, Alisa also used to jump quads did she took doping then or Miki Ando when made history?

My post was in reaction to the usual complaining about how this Olympics was terrible because without the Russians we apparently don't have enough quality and drama.

It is my opinion and I will stand by it that the "quality" we witnessed during the Eteri years was debatable and that the drama we had to suffer through was sad to watch.

And no, Anna Shcherbakova did not look happy at the Olympics at all. And didn’t Zagitova claim that she always hated skating?

How very entertaining!
