Just browsed a Chinese skating board, based on some inside information, the Chinese team memebers have been decided as follows:

Pairs:
Xue Shen & Hongbo Zhao
Qing Pang & Jian Tong
Dan Zhang & Hao Zhang

Ice Dance:
Xintong HUANG / Xun ZHENG

Men:
Ming Xu
Jialiang Wu

Ladies:
Yan Liu

No surprise in pairs and ice dance. Chengjiang Li decided to not go to worlds after Asian Winter Games as he's still recovering from asthma. He is not ready to retire yet according to a recent interview. Without Chengjiang Li, the two spots naturally go to Ming Xu and Jialiang Wu.

The most controversial decision is the spot for ladies' event. Overwhelming Chinese fans preferred Binshu Xu to Yan Liu. But due to internal politics of Chinese federation, Yan Liu was decided at the last minute to go.

I am strongly against sending Yan Liu to the worlds. Her conditioning is so bad this season. Her only strength is jump consistency. Without jump consistency, she's going nowhere. She is so slow, spins, spirals and footwork are all graded at low levels. In my opinion, she will likely be disqualified from free skate based on her current conditioning.

I'm furious that Chinese federation decided not to send Binshu Xu who has great potential.

Stupid politics. I want Yan Liu to explode at world championships so that Binshu Xu can get more opportunities next year.

I‘m not convinced. The clock is ticking fast for female skaters. She is not some 13-year-old.

I don't know what the internal politics of the Chinese Federation are, but I'm really surprised at this decision, as much as I prefer Yan Liu's skating to Binshu Xu's.
