Does anybody know this place and where you should sit?

I've never been to COI or any other sporting arena before and the seating is a huge mystery to me.

I want to have a great view of Sasha and Johnny, but the ticket prices... :scowl:

My bf would have driven to Reading (tix less than half COI prices) but it's on Good Friday.:banging:

Obviously, the most expensive seats are the best, and the earlier you order tickets, the better the seats will be. The Continental arean is HUGE. When I went to COI last year, I had second row seats, But they are EXPENSIVE.

for me the best seating is on the 50 yard line in any arena, and not too close to the ice. Try googling Continental arena. I think the Devils play there, and there should be a diagram of the seating.

I have found that any seats are good seats for COI. Even the nose bleed seats are OK, because you can see the whole ice surface.

If you get right in the first row, parts of the rink are harder to see. But you get to see the skaters close up and personal, especially when they do a jump right in front of you. You really get an appreciating for the power of the skating. For the ladies short program at Skate America in Atlantic City a couple of years ago I was right in the front row in the Lutz corner, and I thought both Emily Hughes and Elena Sokolova were going to land right in my lap. (Plus, I saw myself on TV :) )

Look at the one titled "Arena Hockey"...that's what they use for COI, with minor modifications.

If you want to be near where the skaters come onto the ice, try to get seats close to Section 113.

Over the years I've sat in many different sections at CAA, and there aren't any I would consider bad.

One last tip: as you get closer to the ice, the seats are temporary; i.e., similar to folding chairs, and there is no longer a railing to hold onto as you are making your way to your seat. If you will be attending with someone who has a bit of trouble getting around, you might want to avoid those seats.

Oh, that is helpful. Thank you!

Is it fairly easy to change seats if there are empty ones further down, or is it policed?

You're welcome. :)

I've never tried to change seats, so I can't answer you there. There are ushers stationed at every section head checking tickets when you first go in, and they basically stay in the same area throughout the show; so I guess depending on how alert any given usher is, he/she might notice you trying to get into a section you hadn't been in before.

For what it's worth, though, I don't think you'll find too many empty seats further down this year. We used to get two shows, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, and I noticed this year we are only getting one, so I think the lower sections will be pretty full.

This is excellent and fun advice! It's neat when you can see the skaters hanging out "offstage," before and after their numbers.

OK, I got 7th row tickets two sections from the gate. I can hardly wait! Thanks for the help! If anyone is going and wants to say hi, PM me!
