Anton Sikharulidze (Acting president) and Alexander Kogan (Director) took questions from press on various topics. These included:
  • Reduction of Grand Prix Stages from six to five
  • Skaters changing federations
  • Dialogue with the ISU and 2026 Olympics
  • Decreased spectator interest in European tournaments
  • Age limits
  • Change of citizenship of some of the Russian skaters

Interesting that they keep the age limit for seniors at 16 and also, I'm not sure how to understand this, but it sounds like if the ISU votes for one less jumping passage, they are not going to follow through?

Previous season the age limit was 15. This season it's 16. The age limit was being increased gradually, and as it was before the changes, remains 1 year less than in ISU competitions.

Honestly even I don't understand the wording haha. They published the rules on the website and as I understand it, skaters will compete according to these rules regardless of what happens in ISU competitions.
Rules: https://fsrussia.ru/files/docs/SSPSrequirements_2425.pdf

What they added:
1) An Euler is considered a non-listed jump, it will have no value when used in a jump combination between two listed jumps and it will not be counted in the number of the allowed jumps of the concerned jump combination. An Euler jump cannot be included in the jump combination of the Short Program. An Euler can only be executed once in Free Skating.

2) A Choreographic Spin is a spin which enhances the choreography of the program and matches the music. Choreographic Spin must have minimum 6 revolutions (different from ISU Communication) executed on a blade, with any basic or non-basic positions. Change of foot is optional and can be done several times during the spin. If the Choreographic Spin cannot be identified by the Technical panel, the third performed spin will be considered as the Choreographic Spin (Choreographic Spin confirmed). This element has a fixed base value and will be evaluated by the judges in GOE only.

3) The same type of jump independent of revolutions can be included not more than three times in the Free Skating program.

And some small changes.

In the end of the interview they say that last season and season isu sent them jgp quotas, and they confirmed both times they are ready to send teams. 🙏 I don't care for Olympics, but I would love to see junior team in JGP.
