Free Dance

And your point is????
If they were equal in ALL areas there would have been tie, but obviously the results show that Dom/Shabs edged them out. My observation of the sheets indicates that Dom/Shabs had higher technical level and better execution.
It is great that we finally have such close competition and the quality of the teams is on the same level. It happened it was Dom/Shabs this time, it could very easily be any of the other top 5. That's why it is extremely important to skate clean and satisfy technical specialists in what they want to see.
again you dint read what i was trying to t4ell you have a another read and then look and add the scores for yourself and you will get to my answer..the judges (p cs) actually had B/A in front on skating skills and equal in all other areas..in the FD........ and the actual score was much closer then the marks show..in fact the way of the computer selection happen it went in DO/Sh way..
there is a scenario with the same marks same judges we could have gotten a different result add the selection of the computer been different

to make it clear i am not against the Russian team winning it
personally enjoyed Delobel/Schoenfelder more.

I love Scott Moir too...He's kind of like the Stephane Lambiel for me in ice dance..the charisma, the musicality.

Well, get used to it, ANY DANCE event thread is dangerous for your sanity.

No why should I get used to it. This thread has been hijacked and a lot of
mean and personal insults have been slung about that have nothing to
do with Dance competition. I say let the drama stay on the ice where it belongs.

:agree:

I like Del/Schos's FD, but there's one thing that bugs me- the sign language. Yes, I know it's relevant to the story, but I don't like the way they do it. It seems almost spastic, and doesn't really look like proper sign language. I know that more formal sign language would be less dramatic. I do like the way that they've incorperated the sign language into the dance, though. JMO.

i guess :rolleye:

Yeah I suppose it's not that unusual for one partner to be stronger than the other. For me the best example was Fusar-Poli and partner. She was expressive, fast and could do just about anything. He looked like some sled she was pulling.

People also said/wrote that Peter T was stronger than Naomi L but I always liked her ice dancing and couldn't see any flaws with it.

I heard someone once call him "Maurizio Marfallio."

I agree with you about Naomi. I always thought she was a lovely skater.

That's my IMO. When this team dance, I only watch Moir and never notice Tessa. He has the most presence on the ice and carries the most expression of whatever dance they are doing. He also has better lines.

Whoa -- coming in a little late to this discussion. I agree that Scott has more expression than Tessa, but better lines? Tessa has beautiful lines -- it's one of the main reasons I watch her, because I love her line and extension -- which she manages to keep even when she's being tossed around in lifts.

I agree. She has the posture of a ballerina.

This was one of the first things that I noticed about this team - Tessa's beautiful posture.

yes, I feel that ballet training should be a requirement for all figure skaters. Most European skaters (esp. Russians) I feel like have much better posture than the American ones. Michelle was an exception, because I don't think she had much dance training (kudos to Frank Carroll), but there also came skaters like Sarah Hughes and Tonya Harding...
