Kimmie

Nice read! Thanks. I did see her at the Chicago benefit - she looked strong and confident. Hope to see more of that next week in Everett.

Go Kimmie!!!:agree:

the journalist seems to have written in a hurry, he made some little mistakes, Kimmie lives in Fort Lauderdale, though she trains in Coral Springs and has 3 older brothers, not 4! LOL and made a few more.

Nice that Callaghan works on her confidence as well. Cheers to Todd for having her jump from her leg muscles instead of her upper body.

If we were all to list the skaters whom we want to see improvements in this year, it would be Kimmie on that list. We just might.

I would love to see Kimmie do really well this year. She has always struck me as a down to earth, quietly competent individual.

I can't wait to see new Kimmie!! Oh my god, skate america is going to be the toughest to win!!

How did her jumps look to you?
Did her presentation look better?
Did she skate any of her new programs?

It is no nice that she gets to work with Todd too! You can't get a nicer guy than Todd and he and Tara were buddies and look where that got her! lol

Well, I have to agree that when i saw her at an ice show earlier in the month she looked happy and confident and her jumps were very solid. Good move Kimmie.

Beyond "stuff" like jump technique, sounds like she has done well, addressing what is arguably the most crucial aspect of the game for someone at her level of experience... the mental game. Would be wonderful to see her feel positive about SA, regardless of placement, as it certainly is a tough field, with plenty of skaters with "nothing to lose"

Thanks for the link. Great read and great to hear that Kimmie is feeling like herself again. I've seen her skate a couple of times since the move - the difference shows. The smile is real.

Yes, she sounds really happy. It's funny how those bad skates can destroy a skater's confidence. It will be nice to see Kimmie competitive again.

I don't understand why she couldn't bring her Cat with her.:agree:

Kimmie is such a sweet girl! I love her. I hope she does really well this season. Too bad, the US only has two spot for the worlds.

It is kinda ironic that the skaters are getting nicer every year as the TV rating drops. It might have something to do with it?? For expample, Nancy Kerrigan in 1993 worlds after she completely fell apart, she was whinning and bitching about how she could have done better. Nowadays, the skaters just sit there and no emotions at Kiss and Cry.

Even Nagasu and Zhang are too nice. They are really good friends and they often finish each other's sentences. That's very nice to see but the general audience wants to see Tonya Harding or Nancy Kerrigan in them.

Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna see anyone hurting anyone physically but it would be more entertaining if they had Tony and Nancy personalities.

Joubert stepped up, and now people are starting to dislike him.

I don't think the point was that people would "like" the skater that stepped up... but rivalries which have more "teeth" or when "sparks fly"... that's what will (sadly) capture attention.

Hmmm... Like the beginning of Blades of Glory where they start shoving each other on the podium.... somebody give Brian a shove... then if he shoves back, we'll have an all out YouTube phenomenon, and the sport will be back on the networks!
;)
