Nam: 'We are not doing any events until Nationals'

Naomi Nari Nam announced today on her official Web site that she and partner Themi Leftheris will not skate in any events prior to January's U.S. Championship due to injury.

On August 24, Nam had surgery to repair an injured right hip. The operation was performed at Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Phillipon. She is currently recovering in California.

"We are not doing any events until Nationals," Naomi said. The team was scheduled to compete at two events on the Grand Prix, Skate America in October and Cup of China in November, and several skating shows.

I heard that Naomi had an injury - had no idea it was serious and required surgery. Thanks for posting the information. Hope Naomi gets well soon.

poor naomi! I was expecting this to be thier big year!!! I hope she gets well soon. i assume this is the old injury that stopped her singles career back in 2000. I hope she get better. What lovely skater and sweet girl!

Does anyone have any idea when they will announce who will replace them, especially at Skate America. They are down two pairs with Nam and Lefteris out and Putnam and Wirtz breaking up.
