Th3S
Th3R
5TLi scary directly to the
5ALi which had neither speed nor ice coverage
SpSt facing coe, he missed one of the positition and there was no speed
2F/steps/2S, I think she singles salchow
3Li very scary and they attempt upside down position of it, which make it ever scarier
2Tw, she rotates "vertical" parallel to him
FiDs
SlSt 8 shaped pattern, no flow
FCCoSp out of unison
PCoSp

For them it was rather good skate, most of the elements were done, but the quality was very poor.

Pla/Bonheur, Requiem for a Dream

3T, he pos u.r., the landing was very tight
3Tw
3S+2T, I think he doubled salchow
5SLi, 1 hand
Th3R, step out
BiDs
5ALi
SpSt, decent speed
Th3S, step out
FCCoSp, out of unison
SlSt
4Li
PCoSp

They have improved a lot since the time then they started, bacj then they were downright scary start to finish with really poor basics. Now basics have generally improved, they learned how have a flow while skating, but the lifts are still very scary. You don't even have to watch his feet to see, it's enough to hear the noise his blades are making while he is rotating to get worried for her. Rather good program, though, with some in-betweens, bland performance, though.

Kemp/King, Art on Ice

FiDs, change of hold, good positions
2R
2Tw
5ALi, 1hand
Th3F, fall, no speed coming in
5TLi
FCCoSp, out of unison
2F+2T, no height at all
SpSt
Th3R, doubefooted, may be u.r.
3Li
SlSt, no speed
PCoSp

A new low for lifts, not only the footwork is scary, but the handholds look suspicious in places as well. Those triple throws never had a chance, really. But they have a very nice deathspiral with neat position and the decent speed throughout the spiral sequnce... No flow in step sequence, though.

Handke/Wende, Poseidon

2A+2T, he singled axel
3T, she fell
2Tw, low
Th3R, fall
4Li, complex exit, which looked like something went wrong, but everything was probably intented
FCCoSp, out of unison throughout
SpSt
FoDs, scratchy, it's the first time I've *heard* any scratch on Ds, may be I wasn't paying attention before
Th3T, two footed I think
5ALi, 1 handed
5TLi, shaky and looked aborted
SlSt
PCoSp

Boring music, boring program, both did not even try to sell it.

Magitteri/Hotarek, West Side Story

2Tw
Th3S
2A she singles
Th2R, intended double
5SLi, 1 hand
2A+2T, she 1A
SpSt, good flow, included dance lift
PCoSp, pained hB
5ALi, 1 hand
SlSt, ok
FCoSp
4Li
FiDs, good position

Very good choreography and very good presentation. It's nice to finally see someone paying attention to the program and not just suriving through the elements. If they don't get the highest PCD so far it would be a robbery.

Canac/Coia, Sabre Dance

2Tw, low
SpSt, good flow and positions
3T+2T, he doubled
5ALi
Th3R, put hand down
FCoSp, out of unison
5TLi, aborted
3S, she fell poss u.r.
PCoSp
4Li
Th3S out of spreadeagle, put hand down
BoDs, cool entry with her in spiral and him in spreadeagle
SlSt

They have good lines and better posture than Pla/Bonheur, but it was really messy program. I think they do have potential, but this one was poorly done :(

Volosozhar/Morozov, Phathom of the Opera on Ice

3T+3T, he stepped out of both
3Tw, perfect
3S
5TLi, 1 hand entry, rot and dismount
5ALi
Th3S
CCoSp
Th3R, excellent
SpSt, slow, but intricate
3Li, reverse rotation
BoDs, change of hold an position
SlSt
PCoSp

Anyone want to make a bet with me what no matter how top4 skate these two will be robbed a big way on PCS and finish off podium? Their LP was really good, excellent choreography, great performance. He is still bland, but this time the program is so well costructed and the elements so well done that did not really matter.

Vartmann/Just, The Promise

3S, she fell out
2Tw
3T+2T, she doubled
Th3S, fall
FCoSp, out of unison
5ALi laboured exit
SpSt free legs not parallel
Th2R, intended double
3Li
PCoSp
5SLi
SlSt, 8 shaped pattern, she fell
BoDs

Rather poor overall, she was devasted....

Piatkowska/Khromin, Criminals

3T, I think both did triple
2A+2T, she singled and step out of axel
2Tw
BoDs
4Li
Th3R, two footed
5ALi, missed
SpSt
5TLi
Th3S
FCCoSp
SlSt, 1st half in holds
PCoSp

Good attack and power especially int he first half. The audience supported them throughout, but it did not help much.

Efaeva/Menshikov

3S
2Tw
Th3R, hand down
2A+2A, she u.r. and fell on 2nd one
5TLi
PCoSp
SpSt

Suidek/Suidek, Selection from Chopin

2A+2T
Th3R
3T, she doubled
3Tw
5ALi, the one there she skates between his leg and he pull her up just like that
FCCoSp, out of unison
SpSt
Th3S
5TLi
PCoSp
SlSt
3Li
BoDs

Really well done. People were saying that they are likely to get a "farewell" present here, but with the way they skated they could win the whole thing and fully deserve it.

I really hope they medal, but the PCS were lowish I think. If O/S stay roughly on their feet they'l pass them : (

He had tight landings on all the jumps and they might have been u.r. Good overall and the loss of speed in the end wasn't as pronounced as before, but it's still a tactical mistake to have faster music in the end of the program. The best performance this year, but I am not sure if they were better than Zag&Sui overall.

Obertas/Slavnov, Dark Angel, Virtuosi, Carmina Burana

3T+2T, she doubled
3Tw
2A, she 1A

Savchenko/Szolkowy, The Missing

Serving for match so to say. And they did it! Run out of stream towards the end, but very good overall.

It was fabulous! S&S [Ger] were stunning! S&S [Pol] were wonderful! :agree: [I thought they'd win Silver]. P&T had a great skate too, lovely podium, and so nice to see the Polish crowd happy. :) 3 Great Pairs. I enjoyed the music of all 3 - some of the music choices lower down were awful.

The new Italian Pair were really fun and dancey, and deserved a Top 10 place on debut.
I agree Anna, the 2nd French look like they can develop into better prospects than P&B.

TBH how the Brits moved up to 11th....I dunno!? But they're the best we've got, so they need to be sent to competitions rather than go back to when we just didn't send a Pair cos they weren't good enough. They scored PBs in both the SP and LP, so you can't ask for more than that at this point, but obviously their horizons are limited. ;)

Wow, that is a huge score for the Germans in the free skate, that is getting in Shen/Zhou and Totmianina/Marinin territory, good for them.
