i thought it would be fun to think who might be standing on the podium in hamilton in 2 weeks...

any thoughts anyone?

MEN: Sandhu
Honda
Chienjiang Li

LADIES: Arakawa
Suguri
Kirk

PAIRS: Shen/Zhao
Pang/Tong
Langlois/Archetto

DANCE: Belbin/Agosto
Dubreil/Lauzon
Wing/Lowe

(This makes the assumption that all of the above are actually going to be there since I don't know for sure who all Canada, Japan, and China are sending)

OK -- major update, given the fact that I probably should have read the competitors list before I attempted this, but then again it's 6:30 AM and I'm lucky I even know how to turn the computer on!!

MEN: Sandhu, Honda, Gao
WOMEN: Onda, Kirk, Ota
PAIRS: Pang/Tong, Langlois/Archetto, Zhang/Zhang
DANCE: Belbin/Agosto, Dubreil/Lauzon, Wing/Lowe

Would be nice if skatecanada would update their site so I knew which Canadians were going; and they STILL have to update the results of the Mens Final at Nationals, too. The free skate results are up, but the overalls still haven't been posted!! :( They're making me print stuff out and do math!! :(

Predictions: I say Honda for sure. If Sandhu doens't self destruct he'll be there, and I think Buttle is due for a rebound.

For pairs, Pang/Tong, Zhang/Zhang and L&A.

Dance: B&A, D&L, and W&L. G&P might challenge W&L though.

Ladies: not sure, but I do think it will be all Japanese/American.

ladies
kirk
ota
corwin/nikodinov (okay so that probably won't happen, but let me dream  )

men
sandu
buttle
honda

pairs
pang/tong
langlois/archetto
zhang/zhang

dance
belbin/agosto
dubriel/lauzon
gregory/petukhov

my biggest hope (and i suppose long shot for this competition) is that one of the US pairs teams skates like the skate of their life and comes out with a medal, and i suppose that really is a long shot

Question: have G&P ever beaten W&L? I don't know how often they've competed against one another. It's posible for G&P to place better. They have improved this year, and W&L were barely clinging to second at their own Nationals.

last season at 4CC, W/L came out one spot ahead of G/P. placing 5th and 6th. but, that looks like that may have been the only time they've competed against one another. i'd say it'll be close between the two of them, but i think G/P will come out on top. possibly with a bronze.
