It's a few hours away. What are your thoughts (predictions wise I guess.)
And is there anyone with the icenetwork coverage who would be willing to post some results as they happen? I know someone did that for the junior mens short..

I think that Tanith and Ben will increase their lead. Davis and White should hold on to 2nd while Navarro and Bommentre and Samuelson and Bates battle it out for the bronze :)

yes, but hopefully not for long. I like Tanith and Ben, but I can tell they're a bit slower than they used to be and their twizzles are getting more unsteady each year. Whereas Meryl and Charlie are so clean and so smooth, and their twizzles, as everyone knows, are the best in the world....I think however that presentation should bolster T and B because Meryl and Charlie can't yet sell their programs like their older mates do...

If the name of the game is twizzles the Meryl and Charlie have it in the bag. they alos have very good programs, (athough I have yet to see thier OD this season). What Meryl and Charlie lack is somtimes they are not very connected with thier eyes while skating and cannot play to the audince as well as thier older team mates. Don't forget that the judges are part of the audince too!

Anyone willing/able to give a pbp, or at least post results?

Thanks so much if you can!

Please post final results and impressions even if pbp isn't possible! TIA!

There's a guy on the Icenetwork Forums..I will post what he said about Meryl and Charlie.

Charlie and Meryl skating to "Kalinka"....Russian music....WAYY more presence than any other teem so far and wonderful flow....they seem to be on so far!....now could be looking up at the crowd more..Meryl seems slightly behind Charlie in some aspects..not as much speed as I've seen...lovely straightline lift...good speed on the twizzles, but Charlie didn't have quite the same positions as she did, looks like Charlie may have done one more turn than she did....great final lift into a flurry of an ending..biggest ovation so far!....
Lovely performance but I think they could have carried the speed better towards the end, than they did....will be interesting to compare their Kalinka OD to Samuelson and Bates since they ALSO skate to Kalinka in the OD....
62.69 in the OD and 103.28 overall....BIG scores..WAYYY into the lead!

So, yes again Nationals scores are inflated a bit but I truly think they probably had a great deal of improvement. I'm happy for them in any case; they're a great team!

thanks for the resluts. as i thought, tanith and ben will be able to keep davis and white at a comfortable distance, but still make the competition interesting.

I am sure though, that B&A notice that D&W beat them in tech scores in both the OD & the YP, and S&B beat them in tech scores in the OD. B&A have been working on extension & basics this year (a good thing) and I think they are still working on integrating those skills into the higher tech items, particularly twizzles. And NavBoms are improving and their presentation skills were already primo.

We are lucky having 4 such skilled dance teams in the US! The next 2 years are going to be very, very interesting!
