Scroll down here, protocols in Japanese for Hanyu, Machida and Shoma.

Both Yuzuru and Machida lost in steps according to a poster in other thread.

I think Japan is extra hard on protocols, I noticed since last worlds, probably to avoid favoritism comments. I think a clean-ish program like that from Hanyu would have got 95-96 in GPF, and same with Machida, at least 2 points more.

Second jump in the combo looks quite low. His jumps today are okay but not outstanding. He's still a bit tired I think. His SP at SA is still better.

I was really blown away by Machida's skate, but I noticed and thought that as well. especially the way that he came out of those first few jumps.

Looking at the top skaters here, and their amazing skates today, I can't help but think that this is the best skating competition of the year so far.

Yeah. Tatsuki skated very well but it's true that his jumps are not outstanding today.
Yuzuru is exhausted as well. It seems too many competition in a row make all the Japanese men tired. Poor them.

I mean, seriously, junior guys have longer time to rest before the JGPF, so I am not suprised they might have been in better health condition. But Japanese senior men have to endure too much. Not to mention the pressure!! :disapp:

This article says that he couldn't practice for about a week from conditions of accumulated fatigue after coming back from Spain. (original;疲労の蓄積は否めない。スペインから帰国後も、体力的に約1週間は練習できなかった。) He had 4 competitions in 8 weeks with that body and he might not have had the time to adjust his lutz, I hope he'll be able to overcome it by the Worlds (cheerleader1)

It may have been low but his TES was very close together to Yuzuru's and Shoma's. He lost points in PCS.

Tatsuki's ice coverage is not really exceptional as well. even with Japanese TV's good angle I can see that he didn't skate full rink. After watching fancams from GPF I can get a better glimpse of how it affects the PCS.

I think the senior men are all exhausted from the GP series. It's a miracle they are able to perform this well in this time of the year. They all look very tired.

He couldn't have lost 3.6 points due to ice coverage but I'm no technical specialist so I'll leave it at that. I'm just pleased he ended the competition with a strong performance.

I don't think there will be any live broadcast.
Fuji TV starts their transmission from 7:00-9:25 in Japan time and they will only show the recordings due to interviews, CMs etc.

There is a chance that they'll show the famous skaters like Mura and Hanyu, who will skate during the broadcasting, and perhaps the last skaters, Kozuka and Machida, but I would say don't expect too much.

So if your looking for livestreams, I suppose you also have to wait untill 7:00 though that won't likely be live transmission.

I thought his position in the air was not that good but the judges were strict it seems.

Japanese commentator said he scratched his free feet when he landed.

Shoma is progressing technically very fast now. Anyone knows if he is working on other type of quad ? or just toe for now ?

Yuzuru got level 3 on everything....and Machida even got one level 2 on spin :drama: I guess judges didn't want to give skaters some Christmas presents :D

I think the judges want to but the tech panel don't. Remember the Japanese judge who always ding Mao's jumps? :rolleye:

So much for expecting crazy inflation for the Nationals. Japan, good for you. Except why would both Hanyu and Machida lose levels on the step sequences. They looked great to me...?
