I'm still in 😲 with Koshiro on the small podium

Yuma did okay I guess, there's been so much attention and pressure despite him not being present during the season so far.

There’s some great choreography in this program, but Kagiyama’s unable to skate it to its full potential right now. I have no idea why he’s going for a +3Lo combo. Just do a +3T!

Overall, this was a very underwhelming competition. It wasn’t worth staying up for. None of the performances stood out and nearly everyone crumbled under pressure. The ladies did too. Hopefully they both come back and skate much better in the free.

I really want to see it again!! It’s very obvious that I won’t be able to watch the free program with you, but I will read. And I really hope for the video!! All the best!

I really like Yuma's program. Suits him, but obviously he's on road to recovery... very generous score... but since there were many rough skates, it slots about right... and JSF want him close!

He wants to avoid doing toe loops as much as possible to preserve his left foot, hence the lack of 4Ts. In the free, he's just doing a double toe and his other combos are an axel and euler-sal

Kao better carefully hop right over to the nearest temple to Ractab (preferably before the FS) and get blessed all over again
Seems like the blessings from his previous temple visit has just about run out

This has more to do with him staying healthy and injury free than his results in this competition

Something I noticed when cutting video that I was too nervous to see in real time

I'm telling y'all, Okajima is probably one of the coolest, nicest, most easygoing <---(the problem!) coaches in Japan but BAD LUCK!
Please leave him at the hotel for both the Women's and Men's FS!
Rion will be fine (probably better off) with just Noriko-sensei

Just my uncalled for and admittedly inappropriate opinion~

Yuma's opening jump was excellent but he's on the road back and all will come in due time, if his body complies. Good to see him skating again. Great job, Shoma! I expected nothing less.

I guess I can't even begin to understand the pressure these guys must feel during Nats. I know there's so much riding on this event -- funding, future events, home crowd pressure, etc. I'd like to wave a magic wand and have all the nerves go away so we can see everyone perform at his best! Hoping for some redemption skates in the free...Oh, I miss Yuma so much! Hope he'll be ok. Very happy for Koshiro and Sota. Shun and Kazuki did well too.

Love the quality of Shoma's movement and how he commits to and throws his whole body into the choreography. He is very strong in the free, so I hope he'll do well.

Did we have a history-making first? First time a coach ever (almost?) fell during a spin! LOL.

Some explanation about underperformances from many skaters by coach Takahito Mura: https://twitter.com/piccolino110/status/1606314533030572033?s=12

He said, as it’s colder than usual this year, the ice at the rink seems to be harder. Many skaters were reflecting the difference with ice from the usual, which made them prone to errors.

Hope this will not continue to the competitions for the following days….

Yes, that was so funny...I couldn't believe it when it happened.

Men's SP video links (video quality can be increased up to 720p by clicking on settings wheel)

Almost all videos were recorded from the FOD stream (no commentary)
Had to re-record Takeru Amine Kataise's SP from Fuji TV Two broadcast (with commentary)

I included videos of top placing Men even though their performances are already available to view on YT

It's going to be a nailbiter last group, apart from the little champ.
Shoma also reported not feeling extremely well on the ice (that's why he switched costumes) - so maybe the temperature was the reason.
