Overall, nothing really new. Some thoughts from me:
1) I have no idea what Lena is talking about when she is talking about her "boat." Maybe the angel costume?
2) It's cool that she's designing her own costumes! :agree:
3) I think it's cute that Inna tells her "go to work" or something when she sends her off to skate. Perhaps the fact that Lena thinks of skating as a "job" helps her be consistent. It's something she's supposed to do, not some hobby or something.
4) She gave a very diplomatic answer about why she was upset at Europeans. Yes, I think she does leave everything out on the ice, but I do think she was a bit frustrated too--and quite justifiably.
5) I thought it was funny that they asked the question about the "normal and adequate boy" but I knew Lena would say no!
6) I'm glad to hear she has no plans to leave Inna!!

Anyone have any ideas for some new or unusual music for Lena to skate to?

To some points mentioned by you:
1) "Boat" or "korablik" in Russian is a "spread eagle" position, which Elena uses as her special trick or a feature. She says many athletes have an element that makes their performance remarkable, so she tried spread eagle and it has become one of the special features of her own.
3) "Go to work" puts her in the mood, it's very constructive- you've got a work to do, go ang do it. It sets all the worries and anxieties apart.
4) I think her explanation about why she looked so pissed off were true to her heart. I see her giving it all in the competitions and yet not winning the gold and that is so frustrating. I think most of the top athletes are very selfish when it comes to own their medals, winning them. So when it happens that they truly gave their all and somebody else has won- it really tough to accept that. It does not mean they are bad people or they have bad feelings about the person who has won, they just have this feelig that their hardwork and clean performances were underuprecciated and that is really hard to bear with. The only thing they can do is keep up good work that one day will lead to winning gold.

I don't know what kind of music Elena would like to skate to. I thought of the playful tunes, maybe for an EX, I like this tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74LXx0wSqMI

Thank you for your explanation of the boat, Sorrento, and your thoughtful comments!

I really like that song choice for Lena! I can definitely see her dancing to it when I listen to it!

I get the feeling that Lena doesn't really like classical music, but one piece I think that might be interesting for her is this:

I'm not sure anyone has skated to this. It's pretty and delicate, but it has an undercurrent of darkness and danger--it's about an Ondine, a water fairy who seduces the observer to the bottom of the lake. Can't you just imagine Lena as a water fairy (maybe in a blue version of her SP dress)?

One more thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post--I wonder why Lena doesn't try to train for being on a smaller rink. She and Inna should know that Worlds is going to be on an NHL-sized rink, so much narrower than she's used to. Can't they set up some barriers on her normal rink so Lena can adjust to the smaller width BEFORE she goes to Boston?? Otherwise, unfortunately, I'm afraid she's going to really struggle with her lutz at Worlds. :sad21:

It's not like she has bunch of rink options unfortunately. She seem to have certain limitations from what I get from her interviews so it is really up to the skater abilities to keep in mind that certain rinks demand a different skating manner- like skating with less amplitude when going into a jump. Sometimes they are just being carried away with the music and the way they got used to skate on a different rink so jumps can find themselves reaching the ice rink border too close. I hope she will not struggle at Worlds.
I loved the music piece that you've mentioned. Let's wait and see what music she will skate to next season. She might surprise us.:)

Im still torn b/c I vastly prefer Zhenia's progs

All I know for sure is I want Lena to beat Gold:biggrin:

I am not the least bit torn. Zhenga's tanos and backloading have gotten old and I want Lena to win. It will be difficult, but I want Lena to take it.

Zhenia of this season is the Lena of last season. Whereas Lena of this season is the Liza of last season.

All three girls are completely different but I hope y'all get what i mean :)

Edit: and I  them all but... I wand Lena to WIN!!!

I don't totally agree with this. Last season, Lena and Liza were pretty much tied after Europeans--remember, both skated clean and Lena lost by less than a point. Lena had the advantage of a higher base value and better spins, but Liza got better GOE on her jumps and consistently beat Lena on PCS. It was only after Liza added the 3A (triple axel) that she became the clear favorite.

This season, Zhenya is the clear favorite, and after Rostelecom (where I do think the Russian Fed pushed Lena ahead so she could make it to the GPF), Zhenya has been consistently beating Lena on PCS.

I think that in order for Lena to win at Worlds, she needs to skate completely cleanly (no jumping into the boards! :drama:), and even more importantly, she needs to sell her programs with her heart and soul. No holding back! I think the only chance she has to beat Zhenya and Gracie/Ashley on their home turf is by winning the crowd. At GPF she made mistakes, and at Russian Nationals and Euros I think she held back a little bit and focused on the jumps, but she really has to move herself to tears again, like she did at Rostelecom. On the Russian forums, I read several accounts of people who didn't even like Lena's programs much but were moved to tears after Lena's FS. She needs to bring that level of emotion again.

Last year I was hoping so hard that Lena would win that it was crushing when she was sick and not able to perform well, so at this point, I'm not going to hope for a win. I'm just going to wish that Lena is healthy and injury-free and wins over a whole bunch of fans in Boston! :cheer:

You are right, Batuchan (perhaps Batusan :)), Liza came in after a failed season. Therefore the RusFed (FFKKR) were not confident if they could bank on her. Zhenia, though, was solid throughout all of 2015. She also beat Pogs at 2015 Nationals. FFKR needed to make sure that they have someone to beat the USA girls in Boston. They know that Elena is still dealing with her long (slender and gorgeous) legs and a hightened center of gracity causing her to have trouble on jump landings. That's why they went with Zhenia.

Thanks for the pics. :agree:

Yes, I agree with this. And it's probably a smart decision. Next season (well, especially the 20117-18 season), however, I hope FFKKR puts their full support behind Lena!

This is what I really want to see at Worlds--Lena's happy celebration!

No worries!

TAT is part of the "family". I am super happy with how she treat Lena (based on what we can see)

Yes, well, I think that is in part because Lena works hard and actually delivers at the competitions. If she were bombing live Kovtun, I bet TAT would curse her out on live TV too.

Speaking of which, I'm *always* curious what TAT says in her commentary...would any of the Russian speakers please summarize?

But I do feel like TAT is a soft spot in her heart for Lena...I mean, how can you not??

In case you missed it, Lena reposted a really cute fan video of her and Yulia and had a sweet message for Yulia (Yulek):
https://www.instagram.com/p/BB9spJdwYbB/?taken-by=lenok_radionova

GoogleTranslate: "In my opinion a very nice video. PS Yulek, I'm with you !!! I hold on to your fists today."
I'm not quite sure what the last part should be...

But at any rate, sweet message from Lena!

Yulia replied: "Маськa спасибо огромное" = "Maska, thanks very much." Not sure what "Maska" means?

I love to see their cute interactions! :agree:
