Oh, Sasha! The first video (at age 9) is merely cute, but that second one, in 1999, shows her full artistry. She points her toes! And that arabesque she does, lifting her leg and arching her back without using her arm for support, just sublime.

The Gordeyeva and Grinkov video is astonishing. Gordeyeva is roughly the size of a Barbie doll, and Grinkov looks as if he's in his first year at Hogwarts. But their unison is already so perfect that it's like watching a single person skating next to a mirror. Roughly four years later, they'd be Olympic champions. One can see it's not out of the question even here.

That was one of my reasons for starting this thread. When we see them in the early parts of their careers, can we identify what they would be known for? G/G for superb unison, S/Z for big throws and artistry...V/M for this unbelievable connection?
