I believe only Mroz has his 4 Lz credited by ISU and he has not been able to land it in an event outside of a local rink.
Mroz has landed a successful 4Lz in SP in a GP event last season.

So we are still waiting for the Kingdom to come, and Patrick has been staying in Toronto, surely not wasting time there. I presume any old coach would have been announced already. So perhaps his new coach has a lot to consider and try out before the finalization? Perhaps a skating legend who has never intended to coach, who has possibly conflicting role to negotiate and adjust, who has to be sure about the major career decision, but who may be tempted by Patrick's huge talent and potential and maybe even the elusive Olympic glory?
This description sounds like Kurt Browninng if thats so, I m thinking Toni will be thrilled to watch him frequently in KnC
Agree with you, blue dog that Patrick will be a good role model to the younger generation of male skaters in Canada on what 'all round brilliant skating' is about and just like those before him in the likes of Kurt, Elvis and Jeff. Role models are important in motivating and setting the bar for the younger generation of skaters. Kurt is already giving seminars to younger skaters on how to approach and enjoy figure skating. All because the boys want to be like Patrick. And you can see it--in the past, the men wanted to jump like Elvis, and only focused on getting the tough jumps. The interviews of Kan and Nguyen have both saying they want to work on their in-betweens.
You bet, SF esp. being the VP. Remember, your VP integrity is at stake. Emdee, let's keep up the pressure on 'VP SF'.skatefiguring said:emdee and spikydurian, you are really hanging on to my words, aren't you?

Welcome lakeside to PC fan feast.
Alright, apologies lakeside. I am not inviting you to feast on PC but if you enjoy 'stinky cheese', you are welcome to feast on durians.Yes. Welcome to the fest!
eta. Wait a minute, you were welcoming lakeside to the feast? What about me?! Especially if it's a durian feast, in which case it would be just you and me.
So, this thread also represents Patrick's funky and random character! Fesitive, feast those are the words
So our little aside caught up with us!
I think its the Ohmmm that calms you down ... that a few mantras you probably recite in stressful times.
Personally when I am in a life and death situation a final act of contritition does it for me!
I know Patrick will be fine - just want to know HOW fine!
Have a great weekend I am busy at the cottage with my party of the year.

ohmmmmmmm......
SkaterBoy with my Brazilian theme the fashions will all be over the top.
While I think that Dai will close the gap somewhat as the judges dont want a runaway win for PC I dont think he his techinical skills are as good as PC. If PC has a good day no one can beat him. Dai's problem is that he concentrates so much on the jumps that he has to lower his values of other items and when the jumps are not perfection low GOEs bring him down. I find his drama and flamboyancy too much for comps but great for shows.
Fashion wise, I prefer CK to P that is well cut quiet elegance to dramatic flamboyant clothes. Hmm... perhaps that explain my preference for lyrical skatersIn other words Dai is Pucci and Chan is Calvin Klein. Pucci is wild prints and excitement, drama and flamboyancy; Klein is minimalism and quietness. Look at their hair - Patrick is rather unsculpted and Dai's looks like he has folded in some well beaten egg whites - movement, crazy movement.
What what party? Emdee, how can you not invite your virtual Patrick-fan friends?:disapp:Emdee said:Have a great weekend I am busy at the cottage with my party of the year.
Not gossiping, SF. Just DISCUSSING. Patrick-fans are a decent, amiable, reasonable, loyal and practical lot. Don't we all agree?Skatefiguring said:Hey guilty ones, I caught you gossiping behind my back at that other forum
Seriously folks, will Patrick be okay without Lori Nichol?
Will his performance become whitewashed void of edges and wonderful connections and such?
Without a real technical coach will he fall apart.
Shouldn't he be work on the quad flip or salchow and those spins???
I am concerned - he needs to up the ante for the Olympics.
*Over the past 2 and a half years Patrick Chan has put in some real OT as a utility buffer. He escorted Tessa to the Nationals 2010 banquet while Scott walked in solo even though all the other teams entered together because VM are special like that. Skate Canada skaters past and present have used Chan to focus on to avoid focusing on someone else, or when there's a need to ignore someone without seeming to ignore someone. I've seen that one play out a few times in videos involving Skate Canada skaters. He can be repurposed as an on-the-spot best friend if you're the one being ignored, so you're not stuck with the camera watching how you have nobody to hang out with. And in a bridge role, if you're the one doing the ignoring but you have somebody who can engage your attention, you can throw him as a block at the person you're ignoring. And wasn't he also one of Rachel Flatt's escorts to her debut? I know this type of guy. Every high school needs one. I don't know if wingman even covers it. He's all-purpose, and the rule seems to be he can't say no.
