Since I added to the many threads about skating music on here yesterday, I thought it would be appropriate to start a thread asking the questions everybody asks about music.
1. What is your favourite band/group?
Easy. Queen (…closely followed by Led Zeppelin)
2. Who is your favourite solo singer?
Had to think over this question for a long time. There are so many I like. And in the end I couldn’t make a decision. So I gave up and went for the person who I have the most albums for: Robbie Williams
3. Who is your favourite composer?
Mmmm. Again, there are so many I like. So, I’ll take the easy way out: Piotr Tchaikovsky. [If you know anything about Tchaikovsky’s family background, you’ll understand why this may be seen as a total cop-out. But, to be fair, the “1812 Overture” is one of my favourite classical pieces, so it’s not that much of a cop-out…]
4. What is your favourite song?
Another easy one. “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen (…closely followed by “Stairway To Heaven” by Led Zeppelin)
5. What is your favourite classical piece?
If we count National Anthems, then definitely “Österreich” (more commonly known as the tune for “Deutschland Über Alles”) by Josef Haydn.
If not, probably “Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1” (more commonly known as the tune for “Land Of Hope And Glory”) by Edward Elgar.
6. What is the first album you bought?
“Honey To The B” by Billie Piper
7. What is the first single you bought?
“Thank Abba For The Music” by Steps, Tina Cousins, Cleopatra, B*Witched and Billie Piper [Medley of ABBA songs performed by these acts at the 1999 BRIT Awards]
8. What is the last album you bought?
“Back To Black” by Amy Winehouse [No, it wasn’t as long ago as 2006 since I last bought an album. I bought it after she died]
9. What is the last single you bought?
“I’m Falling” by Chelsey Chambers [girl I know from Moneymore, a village 5 miles away from me]
This sort of thread has proved to be very popular any time they have been done in the past. So I hope you all have a lot of fun with this one.
