Lol....Yulia's is great and her arms appear to melt but Shizuka's is just as unbelievable if not more so. :) I do appreciate and enjoy your enthusiasm:clap:

My favorites for women is pretty much that same as anyone on here, Shizuka Arakawa. She does it so effortlessly, like bending your back that way is just a natural thing to do.

I also like Yuna's ina bauer since she uses it as an entry to a double axel. A little quick but lovely all the same.

And for men, Yuzuru's ina bauer is a thing of beauty. Whether the ina bauer be in his RJ free programs or in his exhibitions, they honestly look like a lot of effort from him but I guess that's what makes it different. And unlike his biellmann spin, I feel like he should keep it in his programs forever since they make him stand out amongst male skaters.

Great picture of Jeff Buttle! And I like Yulia's too but it looks much better from the side

Krunchii/papa -- thanks to you both for the Yulia pics. I was wishing for another one but didn't take the time to search. Yours do her more justice & show why people are so much in awe of her flexibility -- the position looks much prettier and less awkward from those angles. Especially appreciated seeing it in motion, papa!

I still think Shizuka is the all-time winner but Yulia sure is impressive!

I'd give it to Shizuka too, so beautiful but I do like Yulia's position, I actually never saw the first photo I posted before, I was looking for her Sabre Dance one because I remember the outfit really showed her flexibility. I was googling for Sabre when I found the Schindler's one, I like her facial expression (and that dress is one of my favs this year).

That dress was absolutely perfect for her -- age-appropriate and sophisticated @ the same time. Kudos to the designer! I'm not a huge fan, either, so this is a completely objective opinion. ;)

The thing I like about Yuzuru's Ina Bauer is that it can be manly and dramatic.

Some men can do the move more beautifully, but when Yuzuru does the move, I can sense some fierceness, yet it can be elegant at the same time. (when MCM does Ina Bauer, I can see that it's beautiful but I feel like it's somewhat feminine).

Yuzuru doesn't look like he is doing a female skater's move with ina bauer. I pretty much like it when he does the move with t-shirt. http://th1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff465/maoo1/th_YuzuruHanyu2.jpg

Anyways, from this angle, really looks dramatic: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/d4/a4/b2/d4a4b29575cf619466d887b06b240809.jpg

An Ina Bauer is a "moves in the field" element in figure skating in which a skater skates on two parallel blades.

A skater does not have to be flexible at all to do an Ina Bauer. A Bauer can be done in upright position.

The skater does not have to be at all flexible in the back to do an Ina Bauer in an upright position.

It is necessary to have good turnout in the hips, although not quite as much as required for an outside spread eagle.

Here is Ina Bauer doing an Ina Bauer.

This is from a 1961 romantic comedy titled (in German) "Buy a bright balloon" starring Ms. Bauer and movie-star handsome Austrian skier Toni Sailer. (Sailer won three gold medals at the 1956 Olympics.)

This link takes you to thumbnails from the movie. If you click on the picture it will take you to the (full length) movie starting at that place. To see her Ina Bauer, click on the third picture in the second row. The move comes at about 8:15.

You might have to be patient for the clip to load. :)
