Skaters who retired from competition on their own terms

Good question. Karen Magnussen topped her competitive career with an Olympic Silver medal in the 1972 Sapporo Olympics and the Gold medal at the 1973 World Figure Skating Championships in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. She then joined Ice Capades and toured for a number of years before returning to Vancouver BC to become a figure skating coach.
