We're starting to hear stories about fate.
Another family was ahead of the family on the helicopter, but opted out because their 13 yr old started acting up.
The helicopter ride was a gift from the Italian father's sister. He and his wife had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Since wife is scare of heights, she decided to stay on the ground. I can only imagine how guilty the sister feels - even though the guilt is misplaced.
Seems as though the fault is likely the pilot of the small plane since it hit the helicopter from behind. From what I've read, the helicopter pilots keep in constant radio contact with each other whereas many of the small planes in the area are weekend warriors who don't watch as carefully as they should.
Thank God that no one on the ground was hurt.
