2016 Finnish Nationals will be held in December 18-20, 2015.

Before that there will be two selection competitions.
The first of them was last weekend.
The results are here
http://www.figureskatingresults.fi/results/1516/YLSMJS1vk/

Viveca Lindfors won the ladies event. Interesting to see that the four first in the ladies competition were those who competed in Finlandia Trophy, now in different order, except that Viveca Lindfors was the best Finnish skater in Finlandia and in this competition. Jenni Saarinen and Ljubov Efimenko were fifth and sixth in this selection competition, the first competition of the season for both of them.

The medalists of the previous year's nationals will get automatically entry to next years nationals. Still many of them usually compete in these selection competitions. I think there were all the best Finnish senior ladies in this competition. Interesting to see what the results will be in the nationals in December.

I quite like Viveca! I also hope she will get to Euros- does Finland have one spot for that or two?

One. I would assume that the winner will go to both worlds and euros.

So it's going to be in just a couple of days... Any news on live streaming or television? I can't see it on Yle's schedule for the weekend, which worries me.

Since we are on this topic.
Does anyone know if Viola and Kaius (junior ice dance team) are siblings? I have seen some short mentions about them and since I have never seen mentioned that they are siblings tells me that they probably are not but I don't know that for sure. Anyway, if they are not siblings then it is just a coincidence that they have the same last name.

I thought the ladies who were at Finlandia were all much more impressive in practice, than they were in competition - even Lindfors. So I'm hoping for clean skates, and new personal bests this time!

The title not having the date bothers me to no end... Assuming most people are like myself, I really wouldn't check a thread for a country I don't care very much about, but if I see that it's starting today or tomorrow or even just has finished, I get the feeling that I might as well check it out. I'd assume that like this, many people will miss out on this.

Also, edited in the warm-up groups for the juniors.

Thanks. Sorry, it seems I cannot change the thread title but I will remember this next time.

Luckily it's now on the wikipedia page for the 2015-2016 season~

I edited in the senior warm up groups, everything should be final... Now I just want to know if this will be streamed, televised or how we are supposed to watch this... Or will we just get live result updates and youtube videos? I'm preeeetty sure last season's Finnish championships were televised...

So the junior ladies' short programs are now done. Joanna Kallela is leading with 47.32 points. That makes me quite happy, she broke her ankle 4 months ago so it's great to see her doing well. She's a very likable person and a good photographer and her blog is a fun read.
