Interclub figure skating competitions are organized by Global Skating Academy (founded by Alexander Lakernik). The principle of the academy is that figure skating is a big family, the main unit of which are the clubs, because it is the clubs that train skaters. Global Skating Academy offers a new format of competitions - here the participants represent not the country, but their club, no matter where it is located. Beginners, pre-novice, novice, advanced novice and junior skaters take part.

The first competition was held on October 27-29, 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in children's and junior age groups. A total of 140 skaters from 21 clubs in Russia, Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan participated.

The next competition will be held on 16.11.2023-19.11.2023 in Turkey, Ankara.

Competition results:
1. Sofia Glagolevskaya almost managed to land 4T.
2. Anastasia Marasanova tried to perform a 3A in FS, but under-twisted this jump.
3. Ivan Ramzenkov successfully landed 4T, 4T+3T, 3A+2A, however he couldn't successfully land another 3A.
4. Roman Khamzin and Alexander Semkov were able to perform a 3A in the short program and two 3As in FS.
5. Russian juniors were on the same ice with juniors from other countries for the first time. This is very important for both sides.
6. In the future, Russian clubs can expose athletes from other countries who are practicing on their ice to such competitions. These sportsmen couldn't be invited to official RusFed competitions.

The GSA-Trophy figure skating tournament in Ankara has been canceled due to the host's rejection

The competition was scheduled to take place Nov. 16-19

"Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel the GSA-Trophy competition in Turkey," Lakernik said. - This decision was caused by the Turkish side's refusal to host the tournament, as well as today's turbulent political situation in the world and in Turkey in particular. The contingent of our participants are young athletes, to whom we are obliged to provide absolute safety. This is not possible today."

"Yes, we were very much looking forward to these competitions, as were their participants. Moreover, it was at this tournament that we planned to include ice dancing in the competition for the first time. But apparently we have to wait for now. We are working on the future calendar and will soon announce new starts," said Lakernik.

It's a shame, but of course children shouldn't be put in danger. I hope they will find a new venue for the competition soon.

Honestly, I would be happy to see Central Asia/Caucuses to grow more in the skating world. No matter what actual reasons are behind the organization of these tournaments, I hope they will continue and grow. However, given that the next comp was supposed to take place in Eilat, Israel, I am not optimistic.

From the GSA TG:
Dear friends, winter is already in full swing in many countries, and winter is the season for the sport that unites us all here: figure skating

The GSA continues its work and we will soon announce a new list of upcoming events.

At the same time we are not stopping to analyse the already implemented events, but we need your help in this. We have decided to dedicate December to analysing the opinions of our audience by means of small surveys.

Today we would like to ask you what you think about our camps. This survey is for absolutely everyone, regardless of whether you have attended our camps or not.

We thank you in advance, because each of you here and now can contribute to the future of our project!

You can take the survey at the following link: https://forms.gle/AfmNssGUA6uNSDx3A
