In the analysis of my Predictions, I commented that I couldn't remember Anita Östlund from last season. But as soon as she came onto the ice, I did.

She was really disappointed with 10th. But, given that she was 6th on the absolute PB list, that's hardly surprising.

Going back to the girl that was on before her (Amirah Azfariena AZHARI), and I was kinda surprised to see a Malaysian skating to "Welcome To Burlesque". I always thought that, although it wasn't officially, Malaysia was a very religious country. And that this would be frowned upon.

It was enjoyable, though. She was just very unfortunate with the falls.

that Ananya girl was amusingly ADORABLE :) what courage to go out there!!

She went out there, did her routine, and totally enjoyed every minute of it!

I don't think I've seen anybody look as happy after their routine as she did!

It doesn't matter that she isn't the best skater in the world. That she loved doing it is all that matters.

And yes, she is adorable!

:cheer: WELL DONE ANANYA!!! :cheer:

What is this Indian routine? I need to go watch some of Mao Asada's routines to erase this from my memory.

5.36, worth almost the same as a 3F :)

But its a great achievement for her and also India, we should see more skaters from tropical countries! And the Japanese crowd is as knowledgeable and respectful as usual :agree:

Everyone starts small. There was a time when it was unthinkable that a Japanese lady would win the OGM. Imagine an Indian winning it in 2038 ...

and crowd was cheering for her as much as they did for any skater!

It actually seemed like she was getting bigger cheers than anybody else. The crowd really appreciated her trying.

Just looked at Ananya's ISU Bio.

She also does Ice Dance with the Indian guy we are going to see later on, Krishna Sai Rahul ELURI (he's the penultimate skater to go in the Men's SP).

Plus, it looks like she does her own choreography (as does Eluri).

So, proper privateer efforts.

My admiration just got even bigger.

Samodurova is so expressive! Her jumps were not big but the rest of her skating was very good quality! Nice girl, i will keep an eye on her.

I did not see any underrotations. What's the probleem with the score?...

Was some element invaliid or what...
