So it's official now:
Whoa. I'll be watching this thread for any and all interviews from T/M, Trankov, Eteri or anyone about this! Also I would speak for links to such being posted in a new thread in the Edge.

(Fun fact: It's not just Eteri skaters who get "extra attention and generous inflation" - ALL the Russian skaters (and so did the US skaters) did on the World's stage...)
That may be so, but Eteri skaters definitely get bonuses at Russian events that other skaters don't. And since all skaters have to make it through the national level first, this has a huge impact.

Consider this...two pairs on roughly the same tech level - one is coached by Eteri, the other by Mozer, who's the Fed gonna give the nod to?

Not Mozer's team - they would need to be a lot better to have a chance.

At this point, though, it's not like a time such as T/M would really benefit from that. The Russian Fed loves them, and deservedly so. But future teams under Eteri, that would definitely be something to think about.

I have my doubts that there would be some type of domestic bonus for a Pairs team coached by Eteri over Mozer. Hasn't Mozer really been the Pairs coach that's produced results internationally until she took a break?

The thing is with that is 1. It doesn't apply to ALL of Eteri's skaters. 2. It ONLY applies to the ones that have a reputation behind them/results. 3. It doesn't JUST apply to Eteri's skaters - Aliona had very favourable scoring - much more so than some of Eteri's skaters - while she was with Plushy.

That suggests there are other factors at work here. It basically comes down to Eteri's skaters are consistent. Others can match them technically but no one matches them in consistency and the composition of their programs. Eteri's skaters programs maximize every point they can possibly get. It's..clinical. That leads to results. Which leads to favourable scoring. Which leads to more results.

Also, T/M already get LOTS of federation support at BOTH Russian and international events. The Fed already LOVES them. All of which they got BEFORE joining Eteri's group.

Also, Eteri doesn't have any reputation in pairs skating.

Also, they're not LEAVING their old group.
