Interestingly, now Russians are out of the picture, they can't be used as scapegoats for the demise of figure skating. I'm very interested to know who pushed these latest initiatives. Probably supporters of 6.0, because choreographic sequences are basically non-technical elements that serve as an opportunity to shower points on judges' favourites.

Well, between dropping the freeskate step sequence in juniors and axeing the senior pattern dance, it seems like the ISU doesn't care about technical skating skills anymore. I sound like a nostalgic curmudgeon, and I'm in my twenties...

I hope it won't pass.
As do I. And as always, there have been many good proposals, some that are neutral and some that are just downright non-sensical (like this proposed rule change).

We'll probably see who politicked the hardest in mid-June or so.
Wouldn't get my hopes up too much, but I also wouldn't despair yet.
