Thank you @Andrea82 . I really appreciate your timeliness in posting these lists. Do you know whether there will be spectators allowed? I might just go and drive up if that's the case. It's closer than a visit to my parents! Of course it does depend which competitions will be held over the weekend.

@La Rhumba - it'll be great to see Ashlie and Atl in action again!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

It's a real pity that they won't have anybody to measure themselves up against, though.

After being unable to train for over a year, I think being in competitions with foreign skaters is what the British skaters need more than ever. So that they know where exactly they are at compared to their peers. But, they won't get this insight if there are no other entries. 😞

I hear you. the lack of Advanced Novice skaters from Germany is disappointing.
I am wondering if there are none left or going Pavel Roman Memorial.

We weren't sure for a while if an AdvNov category would be held at the event, thanks for confirming it is, even though they're the only competitors. Hopefully others will enter if it's not too late, as what you write is 100% correct, and I totally agree. They've been unlucky in this respect at home too. Fingers crossed for a livestream so we can watch and I can record. :coffee::hap10::cool:

Understandably, as they would've been the only competitors in their category, Ashlie & Atl won't be going to Dortmund now. So @CaroLiza_fan and I will have to wait a little longer to see them skate.:coffee2:(y):giggle:

I'll be going to this competition. I'll just make the drive (app. 3 hrs) and see if I can get in. According to the website entry is for free, but there exists entry possibility for spectators. I'll take along some masks! And I've got a Green Pass.

As I have to work on week days, I won't go until the saturday, and stay on for the sunday. I've booked a room for the overnight stay close to the rink. I'll miss the youngsters, including the juniors but I'll arrive on time for the senior competitions. Competition will end early enough for me to drive home and still have some time at home before needing to retire.

Line ups for Men, Women and Ice Dance are interesting (if not at the level of a GP but those I can watch later), and for Pairs there will be just the two Dutch couples competing (I would have liked some more but alas). I am looking forward to it. Watching live is always such fun!

Sadly, this happens from time to time. When I was working at the trophy and in FS, I often spoke to skaters, coaches and parents and no matter which age bracket they were in, money and schedule always played a big role in their everyday problems.

Some skaters did report how they had to drive by car before and after comp for several hours, like Fleur Maxwell, others were sleeping in a night train, before stepping on competition ice in the morning, while again some had to skip the VC, as they had to get this last train to not be stranded without a bed at night.

Especially in very young years, but also when you are not member of a big federation / talent team, you are facing a lot of obstacles if it comes to competing.

I often tried to talk about this subject in my reports, to raise awarness of how important it is, to give these skaters some support. As more popular you are and as more people come to your FB, IG... as higher the chance for sponsoring and additional support.

P.S. the dutch skaters were always among my favorites at Dortmund, the choreographies are so well done, not only in FS; but in general in artistic sports. Same applies for the belgium athletes!

Enjoy!

Funny you mention that about the Dutch athletes having great choreography - I think that's true of the Dutch gymnasts as well!

The panels of judges for Men, Women and Ice Dance all look ok. Senior Men, Women and ID have enough entries to award World Standing points.
The panels for Pair competitions don't meet the requirements to get scores considered for TES minimums or World Standings (both specialists are German) but Pair also lack entries requirements anyway (only German pairs in Junior and only Dutch pairs in Senior).

I´m really happy my girl Linnea Sophie Kilsand finally got her first bronze internationally in the junior ladies event! This really means a lot to her, you could see both she and her coach was really happy in K&C. She also got a new PB internationally with 132,02 points. She got the minimum TES for JWC in the FS which she missed :hap10:Now she can move on to her first senior Challenger event in Austria next week with a good feeling!

Also congratz to Kimmy Repond with gold and Anna Pezzetta with the silver! Kimmy Repond had a really impressive and clean FS! Pezzetta had a rough FS and was very sad in K&C, but I hope she can enjoy her silver medal a bit.
