The 2024 Maria Olszewska Memorial will take place Mar 6-10, 2024, in Lodz, Poland. This international event will feature all the figure skating disciplines at the Novice, Junior and Senior levels.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the 2022 ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance, ISU Communication 2468 Ice Dance Requirements for Technical Rules season 2022/23, and relevant ISU Communications.

I can't remember what or where it was, but there was an event a few years ago that went on well after midnight local time.

From what I remember, that event I was talking about was being held at a venue that was in very high demand, and the skating was squeezed into a few days that were free in between events. And to get everything fitted into the limited time that they had the venue, they had to have very long days that extended well into the night.

And I am nearly sure that there was a case where the last category to skate on "one day" was the first category to skate the "following day". Except, because their SP started so late, it was actually the same day as their FS. And there weren't many hours in between to get a decent amount of sleep.

Quite frankly, things like this shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Just to remind everybody, the Solo Dance competitions are being held on Wednesday and Thursday.

But I've gone through all the folders in this season's directory, and there is no sign of the Entries / Results page for the ISU part of the event (Ice Dance on Wednesday and Thursday; Singles Skating on Friday and Saturday).

As suspected, the livestreams have indeed appeared on the Fed's YouTube channel. However, with Formula 1 and MotoGP both on this week, and the ridiculous schedule in Łódź, I don't think I will attempt to watch any of this event.

Glad to see Alessia Tornaghi on the list.
Kiibus and Tornaghi was side by side competitor in 2020. In European Kiibus was 7th and Tornaghi 8th place. They both born in 2003 and have been struggled with injurys and to be coming woman.

Day 1 of the 2024 Maria Olszewska Memorial is all about the Dancers starting off their campaigns. Partnerships first, followed by Solo Dancers. And we starts now with the first set of Pattern Dances for the partnerships. And it being done the way I like it - all the levels doing their Pattern Dance 1, and then them all coming back to do their Pattern Dance 2.

We have a group of 4 Basic Novice partnerships; followed by a group of 3 Intermediate Novice partnerships; followed by a group of 4 Advanced Novice partnerships.

My goodness! Talk about a size mis-match in the third partnership! The girl is absolutely tiny! The boy is a giant compared to her!

And to think, people complain about size and age differences in Pairs skating!

(To be fair, the boy does look very young. I don't think he is much older than the girl. I think it's just a case that he's just a lot taller).

Just noticed the names of the Hungarian Dancers starting as partnership #3 - Liliána SOÓS / Ervin BÍRÓ.

I wonder if Ervin is a realtive of László Bíró.

You can definitely tell that this is an older partnership that should really be in Juniors. She is 14 and he is 16. But, they went into last position, so maybe they are just not ready for that step yet.

Ooooh. The only non-Polish partnership, Tereza VORLÍČKOVÁ / Marek ČERNOHOUS (CZE), were the first to go this time, and the girl fell while skating backwards. And the boy was VERY lucky not to fall over her.

They are understandably disappointed. But, it is concerning to see no inter-action between them at all.

Oi! Somebody is really making a mess of things!

As soon as the Intermediate Novices finished, the camera looked up at the roof. Then the announcer called the Advanced Novices to the ice, and they started showing adverts. Then the adverts stopped, and we returned to watch the Warm-Up. But after a moment, the stream got switched off!!!

Well, the Pattern Dances are now finished. Add we missed the Advanced Noivce PD2 completely.

You know, I reckon that the person behind the camera decided that they were going to have their dinner early, and not wait until the interval.

And on that note, I am now going to go and do the same.

Hopefully the stream will be back on air in time for the Juniors.
