My favorites S/H may not win all the things all the time and I definitely am not complaint-free about pairs judging, but such a respite from the extreme drama of singles. My happy place (as long as S/H aren't injured, cough). May everyone stay injury-free and kick butt.

Pairs has its own drama, which is why we love it.
And the commentary threads devoted to it are a lot more fun than the ladies singles threads. Here we don’t have to worry about what we say :)

Absolutely. But I feel like pairs drama peaked (at least in the 21st century) with the S/S vs V/T saga of the 13-14 olympic season  Drama (at least in terms of rivalry) has been pretty tame since then. I think the biggest uproar after that was the infamous Candyman program, and pretty much everyone agreed it was...unbecoming of T/M. :p

I dunno. I feel like we could stir up plenty of argument discussing P/K vs M/G—especially heading into next season, with Olympic spots on the line. Or by suggesting that none of the US pairs are competitive with the Russians and Chinese.
Of course, even those arguments would be very reasoned, and polite.

I would say that, if M/G make a good enough case for themselves here, I don't see how there will be much of an argument next year.

Other than that, here's hoping for a good competition, though I'm not gonna watch live.

Oh, definitely, but I feel like the __ vs ___ debates haven't even touched the epic proportions of singles in general or pairs in 2014. Particularly with the fiery personalities of Trankov and Savchenko lol. I don't really see a lot of super emotionally-charged arguments.

I need the over/under on how often we are going to hear about how old Zoe is.
On one hand it is very impressive that she's over 40 (there ya go), has three kids (including twins who must be of junior-eligible age by now) and is still competing, but I do wonder how often Zoe rolls her eyes or laughs every time she watches her programs and has to hear commentary going on about it.

Useless piece of information time.

Mark was 9th in Junior Men the year that Zoe last won the British Senior Ladies Championship (2002).

He was 3rd the following year. 🥉

Cool trivia. I wonder if he'll share that when they skate. He has to be rooting for her. I think we all should. To still be skating at her age and with 3 children is inspirational.

Zoe and Christopher got my dispensation to skate to "Who wants to live forever" when they skated to it a few years ago. Most of the time this and my way are incredibly eye rolly for me.

The last I heard, the twins were competing at Basic Novice level. But, that was back in October 2019. And, as we all know, all competitions ground to a halt soon after that. So, I'm not sure what level they will be competing at when everything gets going again.

As for me, I'm here for the sheer beauty:love:, emotion, and connection! Hoping for great skates from all the competitors! Good luck to all.

And for the thrills, and the goose bumps, and the synergy, and the beautiful matching lines .... I could go on but this is only one line!
