I'm too, that's why I didn't understood what guys are even talking about.

Anyway, does WeaPo officialy retired? Or are they keeping the option of returning next year?
Officially retired. Or ... as official as it gets in this sport.

 are you into lyrical stuff?

Perhaps but not necessarily so. The amount of slow ballads in pairs yesterday wasn‘t that great either. And I really liked S/B + the British and Chinese team here. G/P were pretty enjoyable as well. So, I have no idea what I‘m into, I guess, just that programs like G/F‘s and S/K are the prime examples of this “outdated, oldschool“ feeling I tend to get from ice dance. Even though G/F in particular were some of the most engaging performers when I watched them live at Euros last season. Which is also why I‘m waiting for the FD to see how it will look then. Maybe I’m just picky.

And of course the only team (of the medal contenders) that I really enjoyed had to mess up. Oh, well. I‘ll try and not bail on my decision to give Ice Dance a serious chance but it’s getting hard.

I hope the FD will have better/more newbie friendly music choices.
It can go both ways. There will be more variety of music, but some music will get A LOT more zzzzzzzz.

Imo, the best way to enjoy Ice Dance as a newbie is to never look at the scores; just watch the programs, and enjoy the costumes and eye-candies of your choice. (that includes coaches!) Sometimes I wish there's a toggle-able option for the TES box.

think Spain may need to wave goodbye to that second spot - which is a shame because they have such strong teams and I don't think baby Fear would have made the FD here

Yeah, that's the thing - I'm not confident that Fear/Waddell will be able to get the spot at Nebelhorn even if F/G finish top ten here.
I think Robynne Tweedale and Joe Buckland are more likely for that second spot.

I’m so excited for Fear and Gibson! 8th!!!

I feel sorry for French teams. Without P/C here, they'e gonna lose the spots. And the remaining spot will go to P/C who decided to not participate... It's kind of cruel for them.

Btw. I would gladly give Spain a place in top10 instead of Polish team. I mean, we don't have the use for second spot at all. And Spain has two very solid teams, it would be shame if they don't qualify two spots.

Is there any way the French team can save 2 spots? It really is unfair to them.

Although there hasn't been much news from T/B recently - and F/W were the World's alternates this year so who knows?

I miss seeing Smart and Diaz here. I imagine H/D were disappointed that they couldn't bring and compete with their SOs.

BTW, just how many Gadbois/IAM teams were represented here? I also did not see Marie France but Patch, Romain and others. Perhaps she stayed behind in Montreal.

I wasn't able to watch the actual event, but I find it interesting how charged up some people(especially on twitter) are about the results. Nikita and Victoria leave me hot and cold... there are times I feel like they've been overvalued and undervalued. Over their careers, I prefer Hubbell/Donohue over them.

The things I find most interesting are:

Just looking at the PCS factors, the only judges to have Hubbell/Donohue over Sinitsina/Katsalapov were the Americans and the Chinese(by a .25 smidge).

The Canadian judge had Sinitsina/Katsalapov over Hubbell/Donohue by a lot.

The Polish judge had Sinitsina/Katsalapov over Hubbell/Donohue by a lot

The Technical Controller is also from Poland. They help make calls when there's disagreement between the Technical Specialist and the Assistant Technical Specialist.

I'm not arguing malfeasance, but I can't help but think that it's not a good idea to have someone from the same country be on the tech and judging panel. At least for the Olympics and Worlds.

she often stays home with their daughter and sends Patch away :)

Are Tweedale/Buckland still active?
I saw she started coaching in Germany while he is still in Michigan.

I said to watch the panel carefully.
