Ukrainian championships: homework for everyone

One of the best skating rinks in Ukraine, the Boguslav Arena "Lyodogray", saw the completion of major figure skating competitions, which included the championship of Ukraine among adult athletes, the championship of Ukraine among older boys and girls, and the final competitions of middle-aged and younger boys and girls.

The vicissitudes of these tournaments, their results, the performances of the leaders and those who may compete with them in the future were assessed by the general secretary of the UFFC, ISU judge Anastasia Makarova.

Tough competition at the "senior" championships

A pleasant moment was the fact that both those who took part in the recent world championships in Canada and those who are training abroad because of the war came to their championships. This is a manifestation of a patriotic position that cannot be ignored. We haven't seen the dance couple of Maria Golubtsova and Kyril Belobrov. All conditions were created for our leading dancers to perform, but the athletes decided not to come to Ukraine...
At the same time, at the "senior" championships, a rather tough fight took place, primarily in single skating. For women, a group of athletes competed for prize places. Such competition became a good motivator. The participants fought to the end, and those who stood up psychologically also got on the podium. These are Anastasia Gozhva, who became the champion, silver medalist Tetyana Firsova and bronze medalist Elizaveta Babenko.
The men had their own intrigue, where Kyrylo Marsak retained the title of champion of Ukraine in a "duel" with Ivan Shmuratko. Kyrylo included a quad jump to the free program, which he continues to improve. In general, the progress of this skater is obvious, I think that soon he will show himself as best as possible at serious international starts. The performance of Ivan Shmuratko obviously showed some fatigue, because there was a very short period of time between the World Championships, in which he participated, and the Championships of Ukraine. However, it is commendable that the figure skater took to the ice of the national championships and won a silver award. I would like to note that Ivan works according to his own program, he is part of his own coaching team. I was pleasantly surprised by the third prize winner - Vadym Novikov. He changed his style, he has an interesting arrangement of a random program and the music suits him very well. But still, I would like to see a triple axel and a quad jump in the athlete's programs, since there is potential for this and it must be realized.
The logical victory of Sofia Holichenko and Artem Darensky was in the pairs competition. Their coach, Ihor Marchenko, and the headmaster of the school, Iryna Medina, said that the skaters have "the right plans" for the next season, in addition, they will change their programs and work on complexity. By the way, the Dnipropetrovsk school was represented by two more sports couples - still quite young, beginners, but this is a good indication that the traditions of pair skating in the region are not lost, they continue.
I cannot help but mention the interesting innovation of the starts in Bohuslav. For the first time, the program of the final included a separate discipline - solo dances. It is predicted that it will be recognized by the ISU next season.

Finally, I would like to note the excellent organization of the competition. All services of the "Lyodogray" arena worked clearly, harmoniously and efficiently. There were also well-thought-out security measures, during alarms, of course, performances were stopped and all present went to equipped shelters.
The results of the championships of Ukraine among senior athletes, the championships of Ukraine among boys and girls of older age and the final competitions of boys and girls of middle and younger age will be posted on the official website of the UFFC.

Just popping in to let you know that I checked the directory that the Senior Ladies results PDF was in and, apart from the Senior Men's results PDF, all the other files in the directory were image files. Most of them were photos of the skaters (and various sizes of cut up sections of those photos ), but there were also thumbnails for the results PDF's of the two Senior Singles categories.

Unfortunately, there are no separate scores for SP or FS on the official website so far. Let's hope they will post them later.

There is one thing I cannot understand. According to the official results only two pairs took part in the competition. However, in the video we can see 3 pairs and in her interview Makarova mentions 2 young pairs from Dnipro. Perhaps one of the pairs was competing unofficially.
