A couple posters on the other forum have said that you don't necessarily have to be named on the senior national team to be assigned GPs. So we shall what happens I guess...
 So what does team selection affect then? Funding?! If so, that actually seems worse to me. I don't personally have a huge problem with Sasha staying junior (as I've stated before, Sasha can win JGPs/JGPF, which could be seen as valuable for the Russian Fed; they couldn't care less what Lazukin and Kurbanov do). However, if Lazukin and Kurbanov receive more funding, that just seems like total BS.

Yeah, funding. Well, the Russian Fed is full of BS, no doubt about that.

Yes, the Federation's decision seems even more absurd if we look at it this way.:confused2:

So there's still no words from Papa Mishin about their plan for Sasha's next season (or about his new programs). Eagerly waiting...

Are there any up and coming Jr men that can help Russia keep 3 spots next year? If not, I can them using that as a reason to keeping him behind, even if I don't like it :eek:hwell:

Ultimately I think it's better to keep Sasha in juniors for at least one more season. Look at what happened with Adian this season. He wasn't ready for seniors and it all was very underwhelming. This way Sasha can spend the season working on a quad (which he needs in seniors) and continue to develop the rest of his skills even further without having to deal with the pressure of being on the Senior Circuit. He has a really good shot at winning junior worlds and that can help boost his stock once he gets to seniors. I'd rather he take his time to develop and not rush into things considering the state of Russia's men. Besides I'm sure Mishin wouldn't keep him in juniors if he didn't think it was best.

Great!

I am sure he has done other exhibitions, but I couldn't find them.

It is now in the OP. And I neatened up his competitive history while I was at it.

I know! I was so excited I rushed over here (well, "rushed" as well as I could considering my internet suddenly decided to become as slow as molasses - extremely frustrating!) immediately after seeig it to proclaim it! Well, after giving an excited scream and pounding my fist on the desk (I might have been a bit overenthusiastic with the last bit, as I might have hurt my hand a bit actually... )

Anyway.

Yeah, baby!

Happy that he got two assignments! Hope that he can skate clean and not worry about placements. :)

Yes! That's exactly my hope as well - and that he can really perform! Thankfully there is no hype surrounding him (that I'm aware of), and no one is expecting him to show up and wipe the floor (or ice) with the senior field, so as long as he does the best he can, all will be well. :)

There's the Quad Question, of course - and how far along that has come. If he is going to introduce it, it may be that he won't be entirely clean... but again, so long as he does his best, I'll be happy. :)

The Senior men's field just got x2 more exciting for me. :) If only SC on the other side of the country... *sigh*

I think the Quad Question will be answered based on his summer training. There's no pressure on him go out there and win everything, so he'll be free to plan at his on pace (and not based on what competitors are doing).

I still wonder why he was put on the so-called "Junior" team, if he was doing senior GP.... (While less, er, 'qualified' skaters were named to the senior team).
