It makes Lena's success this season seem even more incredible considering the difficult training conditions she has. She is lucky that her parents have been able to cover her expenses.
I really hope that CSKA will treat her and Goncharenko better, but I'm not super optimistic...maybe if Lena wins the senior world championship this year, but otherwise I'm not sure they would change their ice time/monetary allocations for a skater who might just hit puberty problems next year. (Though of course I'm completely hoping she doesn't, and that CSKA comes to their senses and gives Lena all the ice time and specialist help she needs!!)
Yes, it does seem like she and Yulia hang out whenever they can, which I think is kind of sweet/funny because they seem to be such opposites! Lena is so sunny and outgoing, while Yulia seems to be more quiet and reserved. And watching last year's Nationals press conference (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SatSHT3Hcwo), Yulia struck me as being kind of tomboy-ish in her manner, while little Lena is such a sweet-voiced, girly girl.
But I'm not too fussed about her and Yulia missing out on bonding time in Stockholm and Shanghai--little Lena will have Lena Ilinykh to hang out with!!

I hadn't seen the above picture. Elena looks so beautiful with Julia in the stands! So often you can see her around Julia these days. Whenever they have a chance.
