I was looking up some info on one of Canada's earlier famous coaches - Sheldon Galbraith and came across this interesting site.
Francis Dafoe & Norris Bowden
"Dafoe and Bowden were Canada's first World Championship and helped to launch a strong tradition of pairs skating in Canada that continues to this day. They finished second at the 1953 World Championships by only one-tenth of a point, but went on to win two World titles and the 1956 Olympic silver medal. They missed the gold by the narrowest margin in history. They recorded a number of firsts including the first twist lift, overhead lasso lift, throw jump, and "leap of faith", a move that fellow Canadians Barbara Underhill and Paul Martini made their trademark over 30 years later. In addition to their pairs accomplishments, Dafoe and Bowden won the first combined Canadian Championship in ice dance in 1952."
