With all the skaters who bailed on the GP series this year, I wonder if it would make sense to hold these events on regional basis. One of the complaints that the skaters have is too much round the world travel, jet lag, no time to prepare, etc.

Maybe the skaters would be happier with 2 events in North America, 2 in Asia, and 2 in Europe, and skaters could stay home and prepare for two events, a month or so apart. Then the two winners from each continent would go to the GP final.

This would work out especially well with the US and Canada, and with China and Japan, in a home-and-home series.

The drawback is that we wouldn't get to see the international stars at each stop.
