Post surgery interview with our sunshine Haneee: https://facebook.com/notes/han-yan-...e-a-break-in-order-to-move-f/641695759357236/

Very informative. He was supposed to get new programs in May in Canada, but he might have to delay it for June. But I cringe that he actually had injury years ago that was not properly taken care of. Now I understand why he had problems with arms so often...

And don't be embarrassed of your bed hair Haneee! It's super gorgeous, just like you are

It must be hard for him. I hope everything will work out for the good.

Btw. I had no idea he's a Gundam fan :) Never watched/read it myself, but I know what's it about.

I don't know anything about Gundam but from the interview video linked by cathlen, it seems to be a rehabilitation tool for him, like the Rubik's cube.

Han is finding life without skating very difficult.

Thanks! Poor Hanee :console:, hope he'll get back to skating as soon as he can!

Is any Chinese speaker willing to translate the important things if there are some?

Basically it means:

He's there almost a month after the surgery.

He said a bone on his shoulder is cut and pressed downwards, 4 nails are now in his shoulder, two steel and two plastic ones. Some nerves were impaired and the ache is in the shoulder but he has no feeling on the skin. It may need sometime to recover.

A team of specialists was formed to help him recover his strength. Decision on what he will do everyday was made by this team.

The doctor said hand gripping is a start to help him resume strength of the whole upper limb, because the surgery was a complicated one and did a bit physical damage to the body. Now it's the vital time. It would be harmful if he starts practice too soon (physical training and special training). Consider his case (being an athlete), a few special training are added later in rehabilitation, but great care will be taken in the process.

In order to get better, Han listed playing toys as a therapy. He began skating since 5 yrs old and never had so much free time before. It's already less than a year till the Olympics; Han dares not to think of skating while in hospital, as he would feel anxious and sad. But he still misses it, because it's been his life all these years.

'Don't want to watch it but can't help but watch. Still I can't live my life without it.'

He is expected to stay in hospital until June. Skating will resume afterwards.

He was the most elegant skater in the field (IMO). I hope to see him in the future where he belongs: in the top 5.
