Alright guys. Kevin will be competing in the 2017 Super Series SummerSkate that's in Burnaby. According to the schedule, he'll be skating his SP on Thursday, August 17 at 3:15 pm PST, which is 6:15 EST. And the event will end at around 3:50 pm PST which is 6:50 pm EST.

The FP will be the next day, which is Friday, August 18. It'll start at 4:30 pm PST (7:30 pm EST) and end at 5:15 pm PST (8:15 pm EST).

Again I don't know what his programs are so we'll see then probably. There are no livestream links as of right now, but there probably will be some in the upcoming weeks.

I hate it when one of my media-related posts ends up at the bottom of the previous page because some people may not see it; I hope no one minds that I copy and paste everything here (and I'll delete my previous post, of course).

It's a few weeks late, but I've isolated these vids from Skate Canada British Columbia/Yukon's archived livestream of the 2017 Super Series Summerskate (Kevin chose not to compete in the LP):

I barely watched the videos, but I saw the scores and the protocols. I love Kevin, but I have to say, "Yikes." the SP score...popped jumps. I wonder if the new format of his SP is what's getting to him with it. Cause with previous SP protocols I've seen in previous seasons, I never saw him do all 3 jumps in the 2nd half. I know more jumps in the 2nd half means a higher base value, but...idk....and the FP protocol...I'm just kinda worried. I hope all the kinks will be ironed out by the time the Cup of China happens.

When Kevin went for the quad loop in the free I gasped  but judging by the mild reaction, I think most of the other folks in the audience thought he just did a 3Lo with questionable landing (or alternatively, they just weren't that impressed with a 4Lo attempt...)

Is this the 1st time he's attempted 4Lo in comp?

Anyway, props for him for challenging himself, even though the risk didn't pay off this time (downgraded with -GOE, see protocol)

If I remember correctly, back in 2012, he tried doing 4Lo's in competitions, but of course weren't exactly successful (From looking at protocols of the past and stuff). And when I heard in one interview this year he was going to incorporate it back into his skating, I was shocked and worried. Because it had been a while. I mean it's great he's challenging himself, but at this point in his career, I'm not sure if it's worth it. And I'm a huge fan of him saying that.

Like I said earlier, I'm hoping the kinks will be settled out by the time the Grand Prix comes. Like he has about a month.

Omg, one month until Skate America! Which means one more month until my dream comes true and I see him skate in person!

I'm hoping I'll be able to maintain consciousness.

lowballed on pcs... as he was first to skate i guess... i like the idea of his new layout... to have big combos with loops... but i am not sure how this works out for base value... last year he was repeating both the 4s and 4t... not his repeated jumps are 3t and 3l... strange move
