Lambiel on students and 2022 FOI programs

Golden Skate catches up with 2006 Olympic silver medalist Stéphane Lambiel in Champéry, Switzerland. The renowned coach and choreographer talks about his three students: Shoma Uno, Deniss Vasiļjevs and Koshiro Shimada, as well as his programs for 2022 Fantasy on Ice!

Wonderful interview. I'm so happy that some of my favorite skaters are coached by Stephane. He is such a kind and caring coach.

Loved the positive impact that Lambiel has had on Shoma Uno. Under Lambiel, I feel like Shoma has gotten more consistent with his jumps, and his artistry has developed immensely. It seemed like he was on a downward trend going into Beijing, and the fact that not only did he quell those discussions, but he got another olympic medal, a world championship, and is primed to still be one of the top skaters for this next Olympic quad is outstanding.

Stephane is certainly a class act. I'm so glad Shoma is working with him. As most of us have said, it's made a world of difference in Shoma and has really brought out his innate talent to perform.
