In case people weren’t up to date on C/B news Penny and Nick are the Ice Skating doubles for the actors playing Torvill and Dean in the upcoming ITV drama.

The star actors are Will Tudor from Game of Thrones and Poppy Lee Friar.

The film will track the artistic and personal relationship between the two skaters, who were British, European, world and Olympic champions in their discipline. They were national heroes in the U.K., with 24 million viewers at home tuning in to their 1984 Olympics win.

Endemol Shine-backed Darlow Smithson will make the ice-dance drama, which was written by William Ivory (“Made in Dagenham”).

Any news if they're planning to go to the Europeans or Worlds this year?

Not that I’ve heard, but I have seen that Penny at least is still training off ice and they both choreographed a junior British Ice Dance couple in while in America, so they haven’t left their coach. The educated guess in me thinks they aren’t retiring yet, but I’ve no idea about this season.

We shall see. Fingers crossed. x

I’m not a huge fan of TV movies but as I wasn’t around when T&D were skating it’d be interesting so see what their story was in a dramatic context.

Plus I’ll see if I can pause and see Penny or Nick’s face xD
