Serafima is still very young. It may be that she doesn't know very clearly what she wants and how much she wants to give up for it. Perhaps she is a tad more emotional than other top figure skating. I am still happy that she was in Plushi's school, one could see her that she had more motivation and happiness in her skating there. Also her jumps were more stable. If she keeps positive, she would do good also in the new school. The thing which worries me is her leg. Plushi has so much experience with injuries that in her place i would have listen more.

Sima and Caro

She looked really strong in the short clips I saw of her in the ice show in Italy. Praying for video

You should have prayed for audio as well while you were at it, Sam, as the sound cuts out occasionally. Her first performance is fine in that regard, but, alas...

Maybe there will be more videos anon. Also, she can be spotted briefly here in the finale:

And yes, she seems to be very happy with her new coach Angelina Turenko:

Sima will by the way continue competing for Russia, though she has been offered the possibility to skate for another country (not France). Sima wants to compete only for Russia. :) Also from what I know she had some reasons to leave Plushenko (not related to him), so I wish he would not have given that interview speaking bad about her. I really don’t like the new tendendcy that nowadays Russian coaches as a rule seem to speak bad about their former students once they left.:palmf:

If Seradima payed her money for training as other kids that wouldn't be a problem. But when a coach pay for your appartment and let you train fpr free he expects more serious attitude. (I don't blame neither her nor him)

That's the biggest difference betwen Russian and American federations. In the US skaters pay themselves to coaches and have contracts so they can't leave without saying about. So coaches don't feel betrayted because they recieved money for their work and figure skaters don't feel the same because they understand that their coach needs money so he/she takes new students.

Yes, and Plushy did for her. And I don't think that were really bad words. He said he will be more careful who will receive grants from him.

Well, I mentioned that Sima had reasons to leave and it was not an attitude. Without these reasons she might have stayed. Again these reasons are not related to Plushenko (i.e. it’s not that Sima said anything bad about him as coach). However, that you invest in a skater does not necessarily mean this skater has to sacrifice his/her right to happiness if some things in the surrounding turn out to be unsatisfying.

Besides AFAIK Plushy charges more for training than they do at other rinks. He is a smart businessman. He surely didn’t only invest in Sima for charity reasons, but as he saw her potential and that it might have helped him to build up his reputation as a coach.

And sorry, actually you blame her when speaking about “a more serious attitude” (i.e. implying Sima’s attitude was not serious enough), which is a bit odd given the fact that this is a fan thread. :rolleye:
