Will she be able to qualify for Russian nationals?

Mmm, depends on her second stage, but doubtful, because she was only 5th at her first stage and there are just 5 spots left to nationals.
Right now, Gulyakova has a first, Vasilieva and Nugumanova have seconds, and Talalaikina and Gubanova have thirds. If she wins and they falter, possibly, but we'll see. I would like to see her there though :)

Given the fact they’re usually issued 3-year Visas, I wonder if RusFed will send Sima to Skate America to replace Radionova.

In theory, Serafima could compete at the nationals if she is EXTREMELY lucky. For example, if a Russian skater withdraws from the Russian GP event and the federation sends her instead. Then she would qualify to the nationals through having a GP event.

Or, there is currently a queue of ladies who are ahead of her because they placed better in their first Russian cups events. If most of them mess up their second events and Serafima wins this one, she would have a chance. It would be also very helpful if for the fourth and fifth event there were many competitors who already qualified through JGPF and through having GP event. If those competitors occupy top four places, the skaters who are ahead of Serafima would place in their second events fifth or worse and that would lift Serafima up in the queue.

Or, if quite a few skaters who already have spot at the nationals (those who qualified through GP or JGPF) withdraw because of injury, there will be more spots open for qualifying through Russian cup events and then she would have a chance.

So I wouldn’t say that Serafima is definitely out of the nationals, but her chances are currently not great. But last years she also wouldn’t qualify and then she got unexpectedly the GP event. So we can still hope.

Sima is answering questions on her Instagram story right now. Ask her something :)

The stream didn't work too well when she skated and because of that I missed most of it but based on her score she could have done better today also. Her score was 174 points which was enough for the silver.

I think this is a low scoring event but the good news is we get podium photos!

YAY, Sima got above 70 points in SP at the Tallinn Trophy. And she always have the best facial reaction to scores.

It's a very good score! If she can go clean in the FS she'll really be able to put herself in the running for next year (126+ would pretty much guarantee her GP spots next year).

196 points aren't going to guarantee her GP event because at the moment Stasya is the 9th best Russian skater with a score of above 197 points. And there are several ladies who have events left to skate and can score above that. Sima should score at least about 200 points to get a GP event.

For some reason I was thinking of scores from last season when 195/196 was enough, but it's true that the scores are higher this season...

Well, lets hope she can get 130 then! The judges seem to like her so if she can go clean I'm sure she can do it!
