2007 Nationals in Spokane was the first U.S. Nats competition that my wife and I attended. We did not watch much dance so we did not see the Shibs until the Gala and we fell in love with them there. I tried searching for a video of their Gala performance but could not find it. I did find this video of the the Novice Compulsory Dance Paso Doble at the Spokane Convention Center which brought a lot of pleasant memories flooding back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY3cIut9RKI&list=PLTZM2cxXU3zsl415Uo67v_jKh_JQgD354&index=2. The Shibs appear at 12:35 with Madison Chock and Greg Zuerlein as the last couple at 22:50. This is one of the best produced videos from novices that I have ever run across.

I remember there was a Starbucks stand in the Convention Center giving out free samples of their new flavor, Cinnamon Dolce Latte (which I still order).

I was wrong in my post above when I originally said the link was to the Compulsory Dance—it was actually the Paso Doble. Here is a link to the Novice Compulsory Dance in Spokane in 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dClGOtEFrQ. Maia and Alex appear at 26:57.
Thank you for the link. They skating really were ( and are) beauty and purity, a heart touching.
And I am not- and never ever have been!- an ice dance fan at all; however Shibs stood out for me when I saw them very first time. IMHO they were unique.

I remember the gala...they played "cars". When Dick B. interviewed Maia she sounded like she was 35!
